You know your town is going to shit when you can’t even finish your baked mostaccioli because some asshole decided to stab his brother 5 feet away from you.

“A man was murdered beside me during my meal.”

“It was you! You murdered your dining companion!”

      “That doesn’t change the facts.”

The restaurant didn’t murder the guy, but the reviewer requested a seat in the non-murdering section, so seating him right next to it loses a star.

I mean, it’s just like the 1980s. You could request to sit in the non-smoking section, but let’s be real, the whole building smelled of smoke no matter how far away you sat. Same thing here. You’re going to catch a bit of second hand murder viewing. That’s just how it goes sometimes.

That’s worth tipping for in a Waffle House considering you weren’t directly involved in the murder.

Worked in a Waffle House 28 years ago. Never had a murder, but did have a rape, beating, two football fan crashouts and a drunk guy yelling at the menu for being disrespectful to his invisible wife. Gods I will never unsee any of that. Worse, I never got tipped. Layer moved to a more dangerous gig : Steak N Shake cook.

Back when I was living in Dublin, a politician stabbed a junkie to death in a local chipper using a big ass kitchen knife. Yes, you read that right. The politician murdered the drug addict, not the other way around.

      #JustDublinThings 🤷‍♀️

Was that politician the gangster who ran for office but was never elected? I don’t remember hearing about this.

No, it was a low level local politician, don’t remember his name. It’s been quite a while since it happened. But he was jailed for life.

EDIT: This was in North Strand about ~12-15 years ago? I was on my way to work and the Guards were everywhere securing the area.

Nah, can’t be, it was a politician, not a former soldier. The victim had 2 very young children (defo under the age of 10 back when it happened). Beats me.

That’s Dublin Northside for you, I guess? 😅

And it was inside the chippy shop. That gobshite got into a verbal argument with the poor fella, went back home, grabbed the biggest knife from the kitchen, went back and just finished the job. I really do feel sorry for that poor man and his family.

Then again, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes down to Dublin. I once went home after work and there were a bunch of lads soaping up and washing their horse at a petrol station. D3 madness forever! ^^
