Holy shit, I can’t be reading that right. FOUR espresso shots?

The issue isn’t your anxiety, it’s your completely unhinged idea of what a cozy little coffee is.

That’s close to the FDAs safe reccomended daily limit for caffeine, of fucking course you’re gonna spike your anxiety.

It depends on your tolerance, really. I drink about 48-64oz of coffee a day and it doesn’t have any negative effects on me.

But I do have ADHD, so my body’s response to stimulants is different.

No it’s not…? Like not even close. The FDA safe limit is 400 mg. So 4 shot sis like half the daily recommended.

At 256 mg of caffeine it’s slightly over the single serving recommendation. Which is 200.

And that’s just the recommended. The safe limit is 700-800g a day.

Seriously unless your have a caffeine sensitivity 300-400 mg a day should literally be nothing to most people over a 12 hour period.

The comic says in 30 minutes.

Edit: and from what I’m seeing online, depending on some factors like the type of beans used, four espresso shots could end up around 300mg. 3/4 of the daily reccomended limit in 30 minutes is going to be tough on most people, especially to someone looking at it “as a treat” instead of just their regular coffee/caffeine for the day.

I work in tech and I can’t drink alcohol, so I’m no stranger to caffeine. It’s one of a few vices available to me. But I’m not going to pretend that my worst of drinking 64oz of coffee, a caffeinated soda or two, and a caffeinated mint is normal. Or that wouldn’t make me feel ill if I did it all in 30 minutes even with my tolerance.

I learned the hard way that my limit is one and a half. The half means “sometimes, a second shot is fine, sometimes NOT”

I may have a touch of the ADHD, but never been diagnosed.

I’ve worked 3rd shift for over a decade & have cultivated my circadian arrythmia to the point where I can sleep 2 hrs and feel well rested or sleep 14 hours and be tired, but I don’t get to pick which one I get.

I’m in this post and I don’t like it… Now excuse me while I fight to awaken from a 16 hour nap and desperately try to get to work on time.

There are some nice decaf coffees out there if you like coffee but don’t want the caffeine. Almost anything using the CO2 process will be pretty great.

at least it seems to be a widespread phenomenon. i could always handle coffee easily, drank 3 of them along the day. now i can’t even handle a small sip or my heart starts to race. idk why that is.

The way to get past the bad part is to remember than you WON’T remember the lesson and you’ll have the moment of enjoyment with coffee again.
