Didn’t realize the difference in size. I wonder how a juvenile with similar mass would fare. I’d still give it the orca, sharks are a tasty treat to them.

50ish million years ago, some mammals sitting at the shores saw sharks and thought… “I could fuck them up if I had a tail.”

“Great whites have been seen abandoning this prime feeding area when killer whales come too close for comfort—even if the mammals are simply passing through for a few hours. And the sharks do not just disappear for a day or two—they stay away for the entire season.”

Had an argument with a guy at work as to whether a polar bear could beat a gorilla. He could not be persuaded that a 600kg apex predator would fuck up what is basically a fat guy who eats flowers…

I think it depends where they fight.

If polar bear would fight in the jungle it would get hot and go to drink water. At that time it would be completelly open for suplex from the gorilla.

And if they were to fight on the ice sheet the gorilla would not have any trees where to hang tire swing and he would get depressed and unintrested to fight. So in the end it boils down to what kind of social services and safety nets are in the arctic and can they help primates like 1989 released Belgian techno anthem Pump up the jam can help humans.

Say what you want this is is an interesting thought, although the polar bear would most likely win because of its sheer mass. The gorilla has a lot going for it. A silverback can get to almost half that weight and has a greater bite force, intelligence, agility, and reach. They can also throw punches of up to 2300 lbs of force, which could easily break a bone or skull.

The bear is in the foreground and the boat in the background, with probably at least 1.5-2m difference. Im aware polar bears are massive, but this image skews the relative size of the bear to seem larger than it actually is.

Also, have you seen a wet polar bear? They look significantly smaller when the fur is not fluffed.

The next issue is training. Gorilla has none and the bear fights naturally.

Gorillas fight a fair amount so to say they have no training isn’t correct.

I’m certainly no expert so I’d appreciate any Jane Goodall types that want to correct me, but aren’t almost all gorilla fights for dominance until someone backs down so no one gets too fucked up and rarely dies? Whereas polar bears kill to live.

Also, gorillas may have a hell of a haymaker but polar bears have big nasty fuck you claws.

Agreed I think it’d be pretty crazy fight. If it didn’t hurt the animals involved I’d pay-per-view it for sure. From what I read they fight for territory, family protection, securing a female and to keep their rank. However, I am not a gorilla expert but I did stay at a holiday and express once.

The one on the left is probably bigger. That’s not a photo of a great white, but an artist rendition of a megalodon.

Would it win though? I have doubts. Especially in light of the macroraptorial sperm whales like Livyatan. But I’d never bet against a pod of orcas vs almost anything.
