No biometrics? No Wi-Fi? Pfft
I know, right? Might as well not wear one
CUP SIZE IS RELATIVE TO BAND SIZE.
I need every man here to stop talking about ‘D cups’ for side like it means anything. It sounds as stupid as saying ‘100 moneys is a lot of money’ without stating the currency.
Here is a chart of sister sizes. Every row is the same volume, meaning that a 40A, 36C, and 30E are the same volume, just different shapes.

Now, it is true that it’s harder to buy nicer looking bras for d-cups and above, but that’s because big bra has been pushing for bra conformity for decades and shoving women into a narrow range of sister sizes at sleazy stores like victoria secret so that they don’t have to make a larger variety of sizes. The result is that women who want a bra that fits have to pay a premium, and bras are expensive as is.
Bras are not just clothing, for many women there is a medical need for one due to back pain and other conditions. Yet, the bra industry cares more about the sales volumes of their 36Cs than the fact that half the women wearing them are likely wearing the wrong size.
why did human evolved to grow something that’s going to hurt themselves smh
I know this was a rhetorical question, but here’s a real answer anyways.
Evolution isn’t smart, and it doesn’t care if something kills you, so long as you can pass the genes on first. Boobs are for feeding babies. If more mammary tissue mean you can make more milk for your baby, you’ve got a better chance of your child surviving infancy and passing that gene on.
Also, boobs are a large percent fat, which functions as both nutritional and hydration reserves that are used during pregnancy/breastfeeding to ensure the baby survives and passes the gene on.
For better or for worse, my back pain doesn’t make me any less sexy.
Yup! Some 90-95% of women wear the wrong bras. Especially those who have been extremely gifted by nature, this can lead to pain in their later years.
Going to an actual bra fitter and getting a fitted bra or two is something every woman should get. So, people, if you love your gals, get them a gift of an actually will-fitted bra. Doesn’t need to be fancy, but if it fits, she will love you for it!
Source: SO got a fitted bra, couldn’t shut up about it for three months, just being in complete shock about how comfortable it was.
It’s all just an engineering problem. It takes a lot more to support a heavy load than a light load…
It’s not just an engineering problem. Larger bras can be hard to find in interesting and fun colours, and there’s no reason why we can’t have pretty colours too. Plus even in smaller bras that have fancy trims and edgings, lace overlays and decorative strappy elements, they exist in addition to the main support structure of the bra, on top of it. There’s no reason why this couldn’t be done for larger bra sizes too.
It actually is done by more niche makers, so it’s definitely possible. Ewa Michelak, for example, is a Polish bra maker that is extremely well regarded amongst people who want their over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder to look pretty and make them feel sexy too. Here’s an example of something from their range for people with “very large busts” (Mildly NSFW) to give an example of what I mean.
Buying bras from abroad is a faff, and extra expensive due to import fees, but the fact that I know multiple people who do it speaks to how the quality and availability of the majority of bras for large boobs is just rubbish, both in support and aesthetics.
Torrid is a pretty good source for cute/sexy bras for large breasts. They also have shirts that will fit if you’re skinny with large ones.
there’s no reason why we can’t have pretty colours too
The reason is the bell curve of body shapes and the marketing departments in the mainstream companies desire to only target the very middle of the bell curve.
‘over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder’
lol
If her bra don’t creak like an old ship when she moves, I ain’t interested
What’s going on behind the text???
Two people, one person is hooking the bra for the other.
My poor wife is one of those that needs the industrial-strength scaffolding, and still managed to run a half marathon without black eyes and a broken jaw recently.
Bra engineers are underrated.
The next tier once you go far enough past D is having an appointment with specialty consultants to properly fit you into an engineered mass of patent pending fabrics, carbon fiber supports, and experimental closure devices.
This is exactly as expensive as it sounds. They make swimsuits as well…
How far past D we talking here? Just so I know to make sure never to accidentally fall in love with a woman whose boobs are specialty consultant bra big
I kinda believe you because I’m designing a bra because of my partners bigger sizes 😅
And I’ll be doing the patent application soon so I also don’t want to say what it is 😂
Tig Ol Bitties
It’s just you running behind her and holding them up, isn’t it.
I have 2 partners but only 2 arms unfortunately. Though I have been able to do half of each before at the same time
So your invention is 4 octopus-like appendages mounted on your back, sensitive enough to do science experiments and strong enough to fight spider-themed vigilantes?
hell yeah random lore drop
My wife wears anything between a DDD and an I, depending on brand / cut / style. I’ve been there for those fitting appointments, I’m really only joking about the materials, but I’m sure there’s probably some carbon fiber being used somewhere, and I’ve seen brands with trademarked stretchy/moisture-wicking fabrics, so that’s pretty true as well.
For C-subs, the bra is the show
For D+, it’s the curtain to the main event.
Nah, as a small breast kind of man I get the best of both worlds. And the men I’ve met and talked with about this who think bigger boobs are better have a big overlap with thinking bigger is better when it comes to cars, houses, wallets etc. too. In general fragile masculinity, they use big things to make themselves feel like their view of manly men. Definitely not saying this is only the case, and also not kink shaming, it’s just been a thing that’s been proven many times.
Lmfao. Thank you i needed that laugh.
This is it, down to the bow:

Almost looks like an explosives vest. They should make one styled like a claymore with the “front toward enemy” text on it
Edit: it should still have the bow because you deserve to feel pretty while shredding your enemies in a hail of steel shot
They used to make 'torpedo" style bras back in the 1960’s. They so pointy they could poke and eye out…
Most fashion trends come back around every 20 years or so, but this one hasn’t for some reason:

I guess you’ve never played the original Tomb Raider
I’d love to see this make an appearance in the Fallout LA series. It would be so appropriate in that time period, and especially so because of the nuclear metaphor. This really seems like something that would become popular in the Fallout universe.
And like 95% of the fun of having big old titties is getting to show a little cleavage if you want to. But the bra makers don’t want to let you wear anything more low cut than a t-shirt. Give me sexy bras I can wear under sexy clothes you jerks!!
This has always bothered me. I’m a C cup, so most fashion is made for me to show cleavage.
But I’ve done some fashion design (mostly historical fashion), and I’ve seriously wondered why larger bust sizes have such outsized undergarments. Like more than seems necessary.
There are lots of companies that have sexy bras for larger busts. Check out this site for example.
Torrid as well if you want to try them on.
Oooh this takes me back. When I was 11, something like this in a Sears catalog would have basically been porn for me.
Then a year later we got the internet.
What a dramatic escalation in ‘material to work with’ that would have been
edit: your poor Weiner!
We didn’t have the free porn back then that we have today, though. We had to settle for whatever spicy content was shown on the login page for websites.
No, we had free porn, it was just harder to find and would take fifteen minutes to load a non-potato quality file. Often, your browser would just give up before it even loaded a nipple.
Are cup sizes the same in all countries? I know in the US the number is the band size and the cup is supposed to be inches difference between the chest and the breast. But how does that work for metric countries?
Mandatory mention that cup size means nothing without the band size.
A C cup with a 70 cm band is much smaller in volume than a C cup with a 90 cm band. 70G and 90C have equivalent breast volume (if you go with A, B C, D, E, F, G as nomenclature).
Which is especially annoying because as a 70G you still get the industrial support model while you’d be fine with a turtle dove model. And if you have a band width below 70 you are absolutely fucked, although a lot of petite women would do better in 65.
You’re doing God’s work here. I can’t count the number of times that I’ve found myself wading into a conversation to clarify things. It always feels like I’m being a bit of a persnickety grump, but misconceptions like this are a part of why so many people are wearing ill fitting bras.
Far too many people feel like their bra is a cage, that they can’t wait to be free of at the end of the day. However, for people with larger busts especially, a good, supportive bra can feel like freedom.
Obligatory plug of the “A Bra That Fits” calculator. I make my own clothing and support garments (corsets, stays etc.), so I often get asked for advice on where to go to get fitted, and I always advise that it’s better to use resources like this (with someone to help measure, if necessary and available) rather than a professional fitting.
I knew someone who was previously wearing a D cup that she had been professionally fitted for, who went up to a H cup. It took her some trial and error to find the right band size, because what the calculator recommended wasn’t right for her, but once she got over the shock of “surely I can’t be an H cup!”, she was able to use other community resources to actually find something infinitely more comfortable than her old bras
No, they’re not. Even though metric countries (to my knowledge) use the same formula (the one you mentioned), there are differences in the sequence. For example, the US would go: A, B, C, D, DD, DDD, F, G,H, etc. Whereas the UK would go: A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, and so on. So you do need to know which sizing system the company is using to determine cup size.
Base-10 titties
this made me laugh, although i’m a 40+ yo cis gay male who has not the first clue about female clothing or the female body xD
Here is an illustration of the post:

oh thank you, that’s actually helpful :D

This is like the third time I’ve seen this post today, all in unrelated posts that just happen to be the top posts of the day.
Don’t feed the trolls, don’t fall for crypto scams
Second time here. First was a post about ICE so I figured hey, maybe a crypto enthusiast.
Nope, this is just a shill, probably a bot at that.
The neutswap thing must be the scam they’re hoping to promote. 7% a week would what, 33x your input in a year? Yeah fucking right.
No idea what’s going on in this meme. What’s c cup? Chai cup?
Boobs
Bags of sand?
I know this is oversimplified, but:
C-cup and below = small and medium sized boobs. Pretty bras.
D-cup and above = large boobs. No pretty bras.
Probably the small bob girls are making the bras are don’t want big bobbys to look nice.
c/lowstakesconspiracy
Is this a thing? Because I have some doozys.

was trying to add you as mod, but idk how
Want to make it a thing?
Can’t argue with that logic.
Bra size. C is medium D+ is large.

At least for the pockets thing it’s a difference between what women think they want and what they actually want. When most women say they want pants with pockets, what they mean is pants that look the same as the ones they already have, but also with pockets. That’s impossible to make, so women are forced to choose between tight pants that highlight their figure and pockets and they choose the former. As for bras, after a quick google my less than educated guess is that because bigger bras have rapidly increased in demand in the past two decades (and even then many wear bras that are too small), at the turn of the century business execs were right to consider bigger bras to be a marginal market with no point in worrying too much about it. Now, however, they’re just out of touch. If I’m right hopefully this will correct itself once someone wakes up to the business opportunity.
Every time the pockets-in-pants thing comes up:
Women in the comments: OMG yes please what we have now sucks
Men in the comments: well acktually…
I mean, customers not knowing what they want is a thing. When someone says “I’d like it if this thing had that functionality,” they’re not necessarily considering all the externalities that might make their preference less desirable. What women have now sucks, but according to a large majority the alternative sucks even more, so the status quo persists.
I have literally never heard a woman complain about having reasonably sized pockets.
Aren’t women’s pants (other than leggings) with pockets very rare? How do you even have enough of a sample size to draw conclusions about this? Besides, women who decide (or never got to decide) against getting pants aith pockets wouldn’t complain about the pockets, would they?
Pants often have pockets, but too small even for a normal sized wallet, or a smaller phone. And women who buy pants with shitty pockets absolutely complain about the pockets. Literally just this week, I complimented someone on her handbag, and she thanked me, and proceeded to complain about shitty pockets that necessitate having bags (she wished that she had good pockets, because then having a nice bag could be a deliberate, aesthetic choice, rather than a necessity.
Pants are generally crap, but they’re not the only thing that can have pockets: skirts and dresses can too. I love how often I compliment someone on their dress, and they put their hands in their pockets and say “Thanks! It has pockets!”. When I first saw this meme, I was delighted to see someone describing the exact same thing that I love seeing. Every time I see that posted, I see loads of people commenting on agreement. There is a truly incredible amount of solidarity in the experience of shitty pockets on women’s clothes. When we do find clothes with good pockets, it’s so exciting that we can’t wait to share that fact with anyone who compliments us on the outfit.
Mansplain to me harder daddy!
I don’t necessarily think you’re point is even wrong, but please know “it’s a difference between what women think they want and what they actually want” is so unbelievably condescending. Perhaps focus more on the difficulties of tailoring and less on deciding for women how they feel?
As a third party to the discussion, I don’t think “women” is the key part of it. “Buyers” would do the same, but since we’re discussion womens’ clothes, it was changed to “women”.
Whenever anything bad is discussed and the word “women” is around, alarms go off too easily.
That’s a fair point, I could’ve said that in a less condescending way, but “customers don’t know what they want” is an important piece of the puzzle here.
I’m pretty sure i want pockets and i’m pretty sure that i don’t care if my figure is highlighted or not. It would be even better if my pants would draw attention to my big ass pant pockets because then i could show of my pockets.

This but pants
yeah!
I love this approach
“Nice pants”
“Check out the pockets though!”
I mean sure, that’s why I said “most women” and not “all women.” There is real demand for women’s pants with pockets, but (especially after the more committed folks buy unisex or men’s pants) the scale isn’t enough to sustain a large business. That aside, do cargo pants not work if you want pockets?
I used to wear only men’s pants, including cargo pants, and oh boy is it disgusting how much better I get treated by service workers, etc. since switching to vaguely fashionable women’s pants. Fit issues aside, it’s a lot more complicated than “just buy men’s pants” (although I guess at least cargo pants for women are back “in” now?)
It’s disgusting that this is a thing, though I do think we all get judged by appearance in most interactions with strangers. Women probably more than men of course.
No because i usually prefer loose pants and if i have heavy stuff in the pockets close to the knee and walk or run, that stuff hits my legs and i don’t like that. Maybe the pocket pants from your pals buisness were not marketed good enough or to the wrong crowd. I for example never heard about.
I’ve not seen womens pants available with larger pockets and non-form fitting. I’m not sure you can say it’s just a choice issue when the choice would be to just buy mens pants instead.
My source here is basically Reddit so I’m not sure how true this is, but I’ve heard multiple times that businessmen occasionally try to invest in women’s pants with pockets but they don’t get enough demand to make a profit. There are still some who have managed to make money this way so there are places that sell pants with pockets, but it’s a small market. And no, I have no idea what those places are.
I think the problem is that the vast vast majority of women’s clothing, especially fast fashion, lacks pockets of good size (or any at all). The smaller places that make garments with good pockets are usually priced higher because they’re inherently not targeting the mass market (because they can’t compete with the big companies, so their only hope is to carve out a niche in the high quality domain)
