Dude, the grieving process just gets prolonged because of how hard it is to make new friends as an adult. Like, great, now I’m sad AND lonely.

It is hilarious how accurate this is. Coming from a predominantly white country, our peoole have their own way to separate us in groups and hate each other.

I wouldn’t say that POCs wouldn’t do the same. It is just the humanity like this. Any big group if people would find ways to be grouped and to hate other groups. Only small groups will be friendly to each other.

Well, once upon a time, keeping tribes small, and being antagonistic towards folk who behave weirdly, were vital in preventing novel infectious disease from running through the population. We’ve seen recently the risk of a connected global community with COVID-19. The Spanish Flu epidemic also spread widely and killed up to fifty million people.

If your tribe gets an infection and you don’t like anyone else much, then it stays in your tribe, and the rest of the population is safe®.

If we can get past our differences, and develop large enough institutional infrastructure, then centralized disease control uses science and tracking to identify the bug and develop treatment. A good demonstration of this appears in the game Plague INC, in which you play an infectious disease, and watch how the global health sector detects you and responds.

Of course, it doesn’t work perfectly, as we’ve seen, there are vaccine naysayers. There were some during the 1918–1920 flu pandemic, as well. And as we’ve seen with the AIDS/HIV pandemic, if the initial batch of victims are not liked much, it can delay response by the scientific community. But large health institutions improve lifespan and quality of life overall.

I call mostly bullshit on both. People will just go straight to xonephobia. They already are doing this. It’s just less visible than racism currently.

Also when you make a post against racism please avoid making a racist point no?

We could all look exactly the same and all be Christian, and the Protestants and Catholics would gang up on the Baptist’s and Assembly of God and kill every one they can find.

… and they’d by delighted in their handiwork and brag to their grandchildren with pride.

Eight million dead in the 1600s, they didn’t even have AK-47s. Protestant vs. Catholic. Same race.

Funny how everyone thinks only white people are xenophobic and racist.

Well, in this hypothetical example only white people exist, so of course they will be assholes to other white people.

Check to see if the Asian people are still okay.

A more cynical answer is to buy as much property on the south side of Chicago as possible before the prices skyrocket.

Asian people will divide themselves by skin color, features or nationality, too. Not immune to racism. Its partly a survival instinct from the past that is rearing its ugly side.
