Not necessarily! Most models of Roomba were extremely open platforms - a ton of development for FOSS autonomous systems, including tons of work on SLAM, was done on irobot hardware. While it would go poorly with a stock model, there are plenty of pet behavior routines available for the roomba that include both “nuzzle” and “attack” modes which would pair well with a claymore.

      That wouldn’t detonate a claymore.

The more I look at the image, the more terrifyingly genius it becomes.

The laser tripwires in video games are a visual stand-in for good ol’ boring metal tripwires which a claymore can actually use. The tripwire moving around it’s housing changes the circuit state inside the electric blasting cap and off comes the wall of deadly balls.

But you don’t need to tripwire. You can remote detonate.

Or for the purposes of the meme, Alexa can time when to detonate. Just needs a little camera to see when and wire leads into the claymore’s blasting cap to deliver the electric triggering…

      This isn’t a meme. It’s theory…

Does anyone know an old appliance salesman who used to sell other things back in old country? Asking for a friend.

Fake image. The cheap webcam is too unreliable on a moving roomba. I would beleive it if it had a lidar or at least a ping sensor but nope, its just a fake image. Please mark it as such to avoid misinformation as someone might recreate it incorrectly. links to classified military documents here

No, none do that I’m aware of. They stuck with vslam for navigation, and later a camera pointed at the ceiling.

Neato (and later competitors) used lidar while irobot proudly marched on into extinction. Their absolute-asshole cs staff as well as those cs policies didn’t help them in this regard.

Oh true, could replace the OS with something better and have it do detection. Not sure if there would be open ports on the board but could attach an esp and have the roomba send commands on wifi or bt. Willing to accept funding for further reasearch, serious funders only.

I think the cheap webcam is for the operator to decide whether to detonate the claymore. The lidar sensor is in front of the webcam.

I always wanted to make one called the “DOOM Protocol”. Lights flash red and the only thing they hear is “The Only Thing They Fear Is You”.

What’s the supposed mechanism to set off the claymore here?? They are normally manually triggered or rely on a trip wire.

I assume that’s what the webcam is for, to ensure proper remote detonation. I just hope it has good night vision.
