TL;DW the stuttering is also present on console and doesn’t appear to be shader compilation.
You don’t need anything so complicated.
Take two copies of the same video, diff them and only keep the parts that match.
We can also build up a database of as signatures to automatically identify them without requiring a watermark - we already have the technology to do this for detecting intro sequences for skipping.
Nah this isn’t usual Nintendo bullshit, this guy was installing pirated games as part of his mods - he’s brought this on himself.
Yeah, really want musk to buy it…
I agree with that, though I suspect it’s still running the full render pipeline in the background but I was particularly confused about why OP expected memory usage to drop
Why would you expect pausing a game to use less memory?
Screech literally did porn.
Yup I’m with you here. I love KBM and it’s my preferred way to play for most games, but when it comes to driving I’d much prefer a controller with analogue triggers and a stick (unless it’s a sim racer, in which case a wheel of course) for that extra precision.
Unfortunately I can’t think of a good design to give that level of control to just one hand. Analogue keys are a thing but they sound awful, nowhere near enough precision due to the short travel of them.
I thought this was dumb as fuck, but I think I understand what Microsoft is trying to do here.
What might not be obvious is that this “Windows” app is for iOS, Android and Linux - yes, it’s a replacement for remote desktop but it’s specifically a remote desktop app to connect to Windows machines.
So while I still this this rebranding is entirely unnecessary, I can see that they are trying to clearly distinguish “I’m not on windows and I need to do something on windows so I’ll use the windows app for that” .
It also means less confusion when “remote desktop” doesn’t let you connect to your Mac or whatever.
I’m devastated that they’re not working on a sequel at all, it was such a fun and refreshing game.
I love docker images, hate docker Inc.
Our 200 developers all switched from docker desktop to rancher after Docker tried to jack up the price about a year and a half ago, along with a bunch of legal threats. Their attitude was so piss poor, we went from debating paying the higher fees to just fucking them off entirely.
I will pay $4 per user to NOT use Docker.
If only there was a sink nearby so you could wash your hands immediately…
I used this within smart tube for a while, but honestly I kind of missed some of the clockbait titles. There problem I faced was that it wasn’t clear when a title had been replaced or not, so when you did find a video with a relatively clockbait titles, it gave you a bit of a false sense of security. I also found that sometimes the crowd sourced titles were just boring, albeit accurate.
Maybe I’m just weird or maybe I’ve just been browsing YouTube for so long that I’m used to it, but for now it’s an addon I’ll skip, though I’m very glad it exists.
It’s generally fine, the vast majority of applications are fine with it, it’s mainly the legacy shit that falls over.
You can also enable it on a per directory basis, and I’ve yet to encounter a Dev tool that has issues with it. Same for the path limit, you can have long paths enabled too.
You can enable case sensitivity in windows. It’s only disabled by default.
I’m on the side of “automate it all and stop whining”, but I do think it’s important not to so readily dismiss the thoughts and opinions of those this directly affects in favour of the opinions of the security researchers pushing the change.
There are some legitimate issues with certain systems that aren’t easily automated today. The issue is with those systems needing to be modernised, but there isn’t a big push for that.
