No one leaves notes, it’s not the 60’s anymore. This looks like a inside job or a setup to paint anti data center people as violent people.

The reality is if you are FOR data centers, you are the problem and need to do more research. No one should be for any data centers to be built in this country, I wouldn’t want to live near one. I also hate paying the electric bill for billionaires, they need to pony up all the money, they have plenty!

I’m curious what you mean by “no data centers should be built in this country”.

Almost everything on the Internet exists because a data center is hosting it.

If all of the data centers exist outside of the country, not only latency issues would arise but data security and availability concerns as well.

If there were no datacenters anywhere, the Internet would be a much slower, unreliable, and sparesly populated place.

I miss the days of a much slower, unreliable and sparsely populated internet. That’s when it was its best.

Just confirming that to stream Letterkenny in the US, Netflix should build a data center on the Canadian side of Lake Huron (cause they made the damn show of course), and then pipe the data back to the US?

Idc if it’s a false flag. It’s based and the US needs more of these actions (in an organized and targeted manner).

Its almost like fucking over all of us with rolling blackouts , skyrocketing power bills, sucking up water, and creating heat islands would upset us. Oh and further enriching billionaires with stolen land. Wow. Weird.

I’m from Indy - no one is buying the story. The councilor is a complete tool who’s hated by his own constituents and will be voted out. He’s been caught multiple times making up shit like this just for attention.

Just a thought - if someone was this passionate against new AI data centers, why would they get an anti-data center flyer, put it in a plastic bag, leave it under his doormat, and then shoot up his door? If they’re going to this much trouble, they want to stop the data centers. But they’d be relying on the councilor looking under his doormat and that his opinions wouldn’t be hardened by this. Why wouldn’t they try to kill the councilor, too? Why wouldn’t they at least leave behind an actual threat?

What’s much more likely is he either did this for attention or it was a drive-by shooting and he either put the flyer there himself or it just happened to already be on his porch.

I’m not from Indy and don’t know fuck-all about this particular “victim”, but I kinda believe it. There are a lot of whacko-crazy nut jobs out there.

Nothing in the story that I’ve read points to a political bent for the alleged perpetrator. I do however know that he or she was actually at my house drinking beers during the timeframe of this purported crime.

Meanwhile they are threatening to genocide a nation.

      Is all violence crazy?

(I’m not saying you’re even wrong, but this false flag shit wouldn’t work if people decoupled crazy from violent.)

Eco-terrorists do your thing. No one else will stop this stupid forward momentum on AI as it needs to suck in huge resources just so some dipshit can request porn comics.

I actually think the market will beat them too it. Between Sora being taken out behind the barn, the laundry list of layoffs that indicate these companies are getting high off their own supply, and lastly the very real realization that all this “investment” is a massive billion dollar circle jerk.

It looks too bubbly to me, we can only hope the pop happens fast enough that these companies cant cannabalize eachother, but thats wishful thinking.

The Free Market in action. If you keep behaving in conflict with the people, eventually the people are going to stop it. Ask that health care CEO. This was a threat this time. It won’t be a threat next time.

This guy is a politician, and a constituent is telling him the position he should take. He should do his job, and listen to his constituent.

The problem with violence being the answer is that you need a specific scope and endpoint for it. Otherwise it becomes it’s own problem.

Valid. It is a useful tool, to be employed in the proper circumstances, to achieve a specific objective.

Unfortunately, these MAGA Morons have no idea what any of that means. Violence is just “Wicked Cool!” to them.

Wait, did the shooter walk up to the house, politely place the note under the mat, then start blasting?

Or did they light the place up before dropping off the note?

The old delivery method for these kinds of ominous threatening notes was tied to a rock. This is new.
