Not because I care about GTA6, but because the idea of paid time exclusive ads is dystopian and I like the idea of sharing something Rockstar doesn’t want me to.
Not going to bother finding a replacement if this one gets taken down since it’ll be on YouTube in a few hours anyways. Mirror it or don’t.
I can’t wait to smoke weed and drive around listening to the radio
Sounds good, but what do you plan on doing in the game?
I’m not buying it because Rockstar and Take Two are shitty greedy assholes.
Ultrabased
looks good but i’m not buying it lol
stupid penalty for making me wait for PC release is that i will steal the game
Piracy isn’t stealing.
Pretty much. Steal it now and buy it in a few years during a holiday sale for 20 bucks.
After all the shit rockstar games are doing, why would you still pay them?
I wonder what the DRM situation will be like.
Will they have some hopped up version of Arxan that’s gonna be super hard to crack?
Or is the PC Release delay good enough that they aren’t particularly worried about piracy?Of course given the popularity and antecipation I’m sure there will be all forms of groups trying to take a stab at it, but I still wonder how it’ll go down.
The game won’t run without an armed agent pointing a gun at your head who will pull the trigger if you ever start enjoying it the wrong way.
GTA IV was the last one I’ve ever owned. Been tempted by 5:00 a few times but I have got enough games that I’ll never play. I don’t need it as well.
It’s worth it just for the single player story. I’ve never been interested in their online crap
From the clip GTA6 feels like Reacher, the video game.
Epic Games gave it away for free a few times, that’s how I have it
Yeah, but then you have to use the EGS and shudders
Idk if they changed it, but running the exe worked just fine awhile ago. I
No worse than steam
That might be the only way I would get it. But somehow I’ve missed all those LOL.
I wonder how many hardworking people they’re going to plunge into uncertainty by ruthlessly laying them off.
At least the line will go up
You just know it’s coming.
Characters, location, even scenarios seem generic as fuck. Lacking the spicy humor that GTA5 had.
Seems like the writers have done the classic error of not endearing anyone to the player. I’m not drawn to or interested in finding out anything more about them.
I would probably buy it (when it’s on sale at a reasonable price!) if it wasn’t for the poor treatment of their employees and alleged attempts at union busting.
I wouldn’t even say alleged, it was very blatant. An employment tribunal has already ruled against them and the case goes to full trial next month.
This looks like a fun time. I look forward to having the hardware to run it, in 10 years. Maybe in 20, when I retire.
Cute thinking you’ll get to retire in 20 years when you sink all your savings on hardware.
Yes as soon as I posted that I realised how silly it was
I have zero interest in GTA6, but I want to watch this just to give a middle finger to Take Two and Rockstar.
It looks good but so what, of course it does. Can I go into any house/business? How open world is it truly? Does every shop have unique items and layouts?
Lucia is a dream for horny modders. I can already see the plethora of nude mods and mods to give her comically huge boobs and ass.
Guess Panam in Cyberpunk wasn’t enough.
Game looks really good, but totally not my thing. Happy for the folks that’ll enjoy it though.
It looks incredible. I seriously wonder if we’ll ever see another game ever attempt this scale, this could be rockstar’s magnum opus.
Point to the spicy yet endearing character… Because I didn’t see any. Saw some stiff cop-like stand-ins though.
Where was the social commentary? The jokes/parody about society? The fun stuff that made GTA5 a media storm.
If I’m getting critical I agree - the story seemed somewhat mild/cliche. The dialog was lacking any sort of interesting banter, it was mostly fluctuating between business and panic. I’m not really loving Jason’s VA, but I didn’t dig Niko’s VA either at first.
However the sandbox that I’m seeing in action (ie, the police chase, hallway gun fight) is frankly incredibly and ridiculously detailed to a point of absurdity. It’s a generational leap forward in open world richness, of that respect.
I’m hopeful it doesn’t take always take itself so seriously. There was some commentary shown in the first trailer too, though.
Yeah, and there’s some swamp area stuff in this clip - but I don’t think that’s a very wide net of parody.
I think you’re right. It will be A+ gameplay and detail. Switching between feelings of tension, panic, and business. And no doubt there’s cops to escape.
Watch Dogs had some of that. It didn’t sell it though. GTA5 exploded in popularity because the media were baited into talking about it, GTA6 feels like a mature game in a genre defined by GTA5. That fine, enough for most people. Cops and Robbers is a fun enough genre for most people.
I think it’ll be a great game, but disappointed they don’t want to release for me. I was so hyped I was going to buy a PlayStation, until PlayStation started their latest BS with discs. Now I’m forced to wait to give them money
GTA5 lost me in the campaign, and I can’t imagine GTA6 will be any better in that regard. Never bothered with the online features. I’m not even disappointed they aren’t doing a PC release and doubt I’ll buy it even if they do.
I mean, just the idea that a purchase of the game amounts to tacit support of their union busting bullshit is reason enough not to buy it. Their games sell the gangster fantasy, but GTA6 as a product is basically the antithesis of rebellion.
Oh I really liked GTA 5s campaign, I replay every couple of years
I’ll buy it on steam for like $10 bucks… if there is a decent single player campaign, otherwise I’ll pass
Wait…so two unknown people just walk up and say they’re picking something up for a guy, and the dudes out front just let them in? That was so ridiculous I couldn’t keep watching
Now introducing our main character: Generic White Guy! I also didn’t see one joke or parody… The thing that’s expected of GTA… It used to be social commentary. This just looks like a cop show about drugs.
Maybe the game itself is the parody. Like when Jeremy Strong’s character in Succession thinks he’s gangster because he listens to rap music and does drugs sometimes. But he’s still just an insecure, corporate manchild.
Isn’t that the premise of every cop/drug movie ever?
I kind of expected a game where you shifted between comedic versions of the current cast of social characters there are in American society today.
Parodying all sides of poverty/wealth, woke and Nazis, Q-pilled Grandmas with guns, Tech Billionaires and fascists, gen-Z and gen Alpha and aging millennials… Hit us all up and make fun of it all.
I’m betting there’s no ICE deportations, flock cameras, or AI bros in the script.
Rockstar used to be a British company parodying American extremism… But they moved the whole company to LA. Now they’re an American company, contributing to America’s corporate culture and politics. That’s probably why this feels undercooked.
Did you miss the drug and fast food commercials?
Yes, the drug one cut off early… The fast food one felt like society has already passed that level of marketing. Like, if it was on TV today I would jusr accept it as a marketing campaign.
People IRL know where meat comes from. It wasn’t like “hunt your own burger” - or “Now with the special cannibal beef”… It was Poe’s law, nothing signalling extreme parody.
…they just felt like, ads. More like a simulation of what some executive thought was in GTA5, rather than someone moving with it.
Oh my. If you didn’t sense the parody in those ads, I fear that satire is lost on you.
