Funny how polarized the comments are.

Going by their track record, season will either be quite good or really bad. There will be no in between, and I’m fine with that… best it doesn’t go on as a mediocre zombie.

They did pretty well for The Expanse and Fallout. But don’t let this get in the way of a good meme…

Amazon hasn’t ruined invincible. I’d argue it’s better than the comics and each season it’s better than the last.

It was already a dead franchise. Worst case it’ll stay that way. But I’m not without hope, as not all Amazon adaptations are bad, e.g. The Expanse or The Boys.

On the other hand I don’t know how to feel about Emmerich being involved. I think he always disliked the direction the series took after his (very different and IMO inferior) movie.

Not just Emmerich, but Devlin as well. I’m worried about this. They tried to reboot the movies in 2014 and pitched a TV show in 2019. They’re both on the record as being salty about SG-1, and I understand why they were salty about it but it’s well beyond them now and after all these years, they’re gonna come in totally play ball, just like that? And this while Malozzi and Wright are “consulting producers,” meaning they give money to the production to get their names on it but they will be largely ignored. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m worried.

Imo, the expanse was excellent partly because of casting and the fact that the authors were so involved with it. Also, had what like 3 seasons before it hit Amazon? I still wish we got to see an adaptation of the final 3 books but I’m still glad we got what we did, definitely up there for me both tv and book wise.

There is still hope we will get the last three one day. Maybe we just have to wait a couple decades to let the time lines match up better.

Fysa, The Expanse is getting a game.

Owlcat, the same folks that did the excellent Rogue Trader, are running with it.

      The theme song is epic.

Hell, the last two seasons of SG-1 did that for me. I wasn’t looking for a Farscape reunion.

I have only watched about 3 seasons of the boys (and read the entire comic) and I think the show is better than the comic.

The story is very different, and for the better. In the comic, the protagonist is always Hughie, but the main focus of the story is Butch and how he kind of “shapes” Hughie. Home Lander and the seven are a lot more of a plot device than anything else and three of the seven almost never do anything, this is because the real villain is the concept itself of a company like Vaught. All of this is fine, if that’s your cup of tea, my problem is that everything else is kinda just thrown there just to be splattery and outrageous without much rhyme or reason. There’s a lot of very dull monothematic characters that appear in their arc and then pop up once in a while.

In the show every character is a lot more developed, instead of just Hughie and Butch. And their journeys are a lot more intertwined with one another, and the story itself is a lot more complex. I think the worst part of the show is when it tries to wink at the comic fans and it just looks out of place, while swooshing over the head of who didn’t read the comic (e.g. “take away that …😉 Love sausage 😉😉… from me”; “hello …😉 Vic…toria 😉😉”)

I guess they want to insinuate that Andromeda killed Mass Effect. While Andromeda certainly got a studio killed, the game itself is actually pretty good in my opinion.

I enjoyed playing Andromeda, in fact I think gameplay-wise it’s the most fun of any mass effect. But story and character wise it was so mediocre that very shortly after finishing it I couldn’t tell you who anyone was or any of the things that happened.

It might have been better off with a different spin-off name that made it clear it was in the same universe but wasn’t really Mass Effect, because it kinda misses the mark for what those games were about.

I feel like Amazon actually try to make decent stuff, they just don’t do a very good job of it.
