Hypothetically, finding the gold bars is a massive pain in the ass.
Without identification, the value of the bars drops off a shitload.
You can’t just shave off the serial numbers and then sell them.
You can’t just resmelt them either, the bars are cast at over 1000°C, and even then, the bars have unique imperfections (deliberate) which make them easily identifiable.
I tried to find how much of a premium traceable gold carries but wasn’t able to. Got a good surface for how much?

Wow, eight cases gold and an entire extra case of money, well do the responsible thing and hand these over to the police.
The responsible thing would be to launder it and then move it into an umbrella company which is based in an off shore account, hire yourself, and then use the earnings from the interest to pay school lunch debts and build shelter for the homeless.
I loaded up the 6 boxes of gold into my car and the friendly police man helped me drag all 3 of them into the station. I sure hope there’s a reward for the 1 box of gold I found, shame there was no money with it.
