BL4 is running horribly, even on higher end PCs. I have a 4090 and a decent processor, but only getting 80FPS max with a good few settings on low or off and AI frame gen on (I would rather not, but performance is just that bad).
I think the root issue is more around the belief that US companies operate off of meritocracy.
I.E. only the most qualified and competent people make it to the top.
Conservatives (reactionary fear mongering) do.
That was more of a juxtaposition of the example you gave of blocking = putting your head in the sand VS everyone’s opinion should be heard. My main point being that there is a happy medium between the two.
I probably should have phrased that differently, sorry.
Eh, I would rather get blocked than have a troll that follows me everywhere.
I don’t know for sure if this user is one, but everybody wants something different from their online experience and I don’t think there is anything wrong with curating it.
IF they hate politics and don’t want to see it anywhere on their feed, that is their choice. It may come back to bite them in the ass with IRL “leopards ate my face” style consequences when they realize that politics affects everyone, but it is still their choice.
The midset of “Everyone’s opinion is valid and should be heard” is a neo-liberal perspective with their “centrist” (right leaning) approach. That is how we got to institutions platforming literal Nazis on debate channels.
I think there is a happy medium where it is alright to block users or hide posts if their messaging is just counterproductive or inflammatory.
Also it is better to block trolls than rag on them, their goal is typically to get any reaction.
I like to give them a chance to discuss and try to introduce them to a new perspective, but the second they throw a blatantly bad faith comment, I am going for the block button.
Just as a reminder, you are able to block users if you do not like what they are posting.
My friend, this post is about China getting cut off from the rest of the word, most likely due to government censorship.
The title of this community is Technology.
It is a PSA about the current steps the US is taking towards similar levels of censorship. This is pretty damn relevant to both the community and the post topic.
I know some people don’t like it, but politics is part of tons of different communities. Even a crafting community would be affected by the current tariffs.
Buisness cost. How come I get the feeling this might be tax write-off-able for them.
Good to know, thanks
I was trying to install an Nvidia driver on Linux Mint, so I think I am safe.
It fucks with Linux. I literally just disabled it to resolve a driver install issue before this announcement was made.
If anybody is bored:
Not working with the system, legitimizing and relying on it.
If you truly believe that you cannot work alongside the people who are working inside the system to change America, I think we are done here.
I hope you are successful in creating the change you are talking about.
My friend, you seem to be misunderstanding what I have been saying.
You keep on talking in absolutes. I am talking about chances. If it is 0.00001% safer/easier to perform collective action under a blue party, it is still easier/safer.
The primary message I am trying to get across is to use the system that is currently implemented in this country to create an opportunity for change.
Discouraging people from voting or encouraging people to vote for a party that has no chance is doing damage to both of our agendas.
Correct me if I am wrong, but your position is to perform a full correction of the system. I wish you the best of luck with that and if you succeed, I will celebrate.
We can work both inside and outside the system to create change.
On the topic of Imperialism, yes, I do believe America is an Imperial country and I think it is bad.
I am going to need to double check my settings then. I might have only enabled DLSS and not frame gen.
