The revolution freed the slaves in Cuba, ended its colonialism by the US, provided free medicine and education for every citizen, reformed land so there were no big landlords any longer, created vast amounts of infrastructure in rural areas that did not have any before this, and much, much more. The ones killed by the revolution were the fascists in the Batista regime.
Cuba has more doctors per sq. inch than another country in NA. Everybody in Cuba is highly educated despite it being a place where not the smartest people vacation to. Only reason Cuba is not an economic power house is because of the embargo that’s been going on for 50 years.

Gay people weren’t murdered. The revolutionary government did continue the former reactionary policy towards gay people and imprisoned them, but this was corrected and overturned through the newly implemented democratic system. Today, Cuba is one of the most LGBTQIA+ countries on the planet thanks to their popular Family Code.
