As the chief executive of a charity supporting people with a visual impairment, however, I would like to emphasise the point touched upon in your article: how transformative this technology is already proving for blind people.
They are a small minority of the people buying these. They are also not the target market, even if it does help them. Stop providing cover for these companies and people.

This technology could (and I’m sure, one day will) change the lives of blind people, but even then I want to be sure that anything recorded never leaves the glasses. It would have to be hardware that is on the one hand very visible while recording you and on the other hand should not have ways to take the data off. It definitely could not be made by a company like meta that is run by a bunch of lying cheating fucks that will do anything for a dollar

When I opened this, I thought they were upset about him filming their illegal actions. There’s this guy on tiktok called Raw Egg Nationalist, who advocates for an all meat diet. His reasoning is that climate change is going to create a lot of refugees, so white people need to eat lots of protein to prepare for the upcoming race war.
So you can add the carnivore diet to the list of weird online cultural trends connected to white supremacy.
