Reverse UNO

Hence why so many of us are gay for each other.
I’m all for touching as long as we don’t sudo
Her: it depends on who’s asking and their usecase

Arch or Debian?
answers question with question
Speed or reliability?Gentoo
OS/2 Warp
SOLD!
God that was a glorious OS.
I was in sales around the time in between 2.1 and 4. Win 3 was the current and you could hardly multitask anything that wasn’t idle.
I found out you could open a music video 9 times and tile it and it just worked (a little slow)
I was all wtf are we even selling Windows, this is amazing.
Then win95 hit, and it could do the same time.
Microsoft had us put out a table with win95, I ran that exact demo with the Edie Brickell video from the install CD and copies flew off the floor.
Funny thing, not like a single person there would ever do that, but that’s all they needed to see
She’s just baffled that anyone who knows those two distributions could be so dense as to whittle down the vast infinite sea of possible options to just two incredibly boring ones. She would have cried next if he hadn’t done it.
Also, OpenSUSE.
well the vast majority of those are just arch and debian with extra steps, with the occasional fedora based or independent distro
Yep. Should be “Windows or Linux?”
I know part of the joke is that it’s not this comparison--that asking “arch or debian” also rules out Windows--but it really is the important dividing line.
“Hammer to penis or steak” is less interesting than “Steak or lobster”
Anyways the answer is Steak, and a different steak if its for a server, and lobster (derogatory) if its for an important server
I use the only correct option. TempleOS. /j
“Arch or Debian?”
“TempleOS, you heathen!”
And then I pushed him over
~And then he kissed me~
What happens when a zealot meets a more zealous zealot
“Zealot” is relative to where you currently are. Mint -> Debian -> Arch -> FreeBSD -> OpenBSD -> Plan 9 -> TempleOS
Then straight back to Mint! Full circle, bell curve meme style.
That’s actually what I’ve seen a lot! After a few years of tinkering with your system, the idea of something stable and polished is very appealing, so you can focus on getting things done.
I run Arch on my personal machine and Debian on my server and honestly Debian gives me more issues.
It doesn’t like zfs and Nvidia drivers are always a fight. Debian is still good though if all you want to run is a web server forever.
Both. desktop is arch based, server is Debian.
🥵 yeah talk dirty to me.
I run apt upgrade before apt update.
Yep. “Depends on the use case” is a solid answer.
This is the way! Everything is based on Arch, Debian or Fedora anyway so you might as well stick to what is well known and supported.
angry Gentoo and NixOS noises
well known and supported 🤪
From my understanding NixOS and Gentoo is “support it yourself”. I haven’t tried either of them so I could be completely wrong about that.
It’s pretty much the same thing as everywhere, you have a bunch of lovely people who package and test things, nothing too weird. What you are describing is LFS.
You slut, you!
Are you waiting for an invitation?
Oooh yeah, baby, let’s debug the networking stack together!
Don’t be silly,
chmod o-wyour$WILLY!
“Arch or Debian”
“Slackware”
“Marry me”
“Ubuntu.”
“NEXT!!!”
Slack was my first nix exposure professionally, talk about the deep end
Plan 9
Debian in the kitchen and Arch in the bedroom
Debian in the kitchen
You only buy pre-made food?
That’s where Gentoo belongs, or LFS if you don’t like following recipes.I buy ingredients, not seeds and animals.
Only buy traditional food with a best before date at least 3 years in the future.
In bedroom a new bed every other day with a lot of bed bugs.
don’t kink share
Arch! Specifically cachyos. I loved it when I used it.
Arch is good if you know what youre doing or need a hobby. Cachyos is great if you want arch but want to do things other than troubleshoot your own mistakes
when
I loved it… but I stopped?
Maybe they stopped needing a PC
My wife uses Debian, but I love her anyway. ❤️
Do you call her Debbie Anne?
Debbie Anne, Debbie Anne
Much to cool for Windows pain
Debbie Anne she’s like one in a mill-
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanFun fact that not a lot of people seem to know: the name is a portmanteau of “Deborah” and “Ian”. The names of the Creator and his then wife
Deb Deb Deb, Deb Debbie Anne!
She’s a Hannah Montana girl.
So… Debian then? Hannah Montana Linux has historically been a kubuntu reskin
There’s a Hannah Montana Linux? Wild.
There was a while ago and then it was recently revived
