    𓌂𓐍𓏏𓁐 𓄿𓈖𓎼𓂋𓇌 decodes to S42-x-t-B1 A-n-g-r-y using Manuel de Codage’s hieroglyphic alphabet

    The transliteration is ꜥbꜣ-ḫ-t-st ꜣḫ-n-g-r-y or sḫm-ḫ-t-st ꜣḫ-n-g-r-y, Gardiner’s code is S42 Aa1 X1 B1 G1 N35 W11 D21 M17a

    I don’t know when U+13430 EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPH VERTICAL JOINER is used. When I paste the MdC code here, I see some above each other but not when I paste that back here or in UnicodePad, so it looks like the rendering works different in different contexts. The converter may be wrong: only :, not - should cause characters to stack, and it should prevent that with a ZWNJ or force that (if supported) with U+13430. Also, 𓏭 is just a variant way of writing 𓇌, much like 𝚊/𝑎, ϕ/φ, Л/Λ, 論/论, 𓁔/𓁕 etc.

    Given that the ASCII code for 𓄿𓈖𓎼𓂋𓇌 is an English word and contextually sensible, I spent way too much time trying to find what someone must have typed into some converter to get 𓌂𓐍𓏏𓁐 but I couldn’t find a satisfactory answer. Note that the MdC code never contains single letters CEJOUV so they may have been dropped, and even more letters are dropped to get phonemic codes in examples I’ve seen like “Tutankhamun” → twt-Ꜥnḫ-ꞽmn → 𓇋𓏠𓈖𓏏𓅱𓏏𓋹𓋾𓉺𓇓.

      I think your initial hypothesis is correct, that the author simply pasted an English word phrase into an English/ASCII to Hieroglyphic converter, with the second word being Angry, and shit out some hieroglyphics.

      Ironic, considering the punchline of the joke

      𓌂𓐍𓏏𓁐 seems to mean Sekhmet according to Wikipedia. So the full thing is “Sekhmet angry”.

      Yeah, you know, funny you should mention beer:

      Sekhmet was a scourge upon humanity, slaughtering villages and drinking the blood of her victims. One village had the clever idea of mixing in red dye to their beer, covering the ground, and then hiding.

      Sekhmet thought it was a village she had already slaughtered, drank all the “blood”, got drunk, then slept off her lust for genocide. After she woke up, Sekhmet took up healing for a change.
