The idea of God being non-binary is really one of the oldest ideas in theology—even Christian theology. This should not be controversial in any way. But here we are.

God simply cant be anything but non binary. Its like a defining feature of the Divine that it transcends mortal boundaries. Insisting on confining that to a sexual, material, fleshy gender binary has always struck me as blasphemous.

They’d probably agree if they actually took time to understand what non-binary actually means. Just like they usually agree with Socialism when you don’t use the word socialism in the explanation.

They’re mad that Talarico pointed out that the original text uses male language for Yahweh and female language for the holy spirit. Talarico said god has aspects of masculinity and feminity, and conservatives flipped out. He cited their actual book.
My experience has been that the people who are most eager to advertise how much they value the bible are usually the least likely to have read it. And they get very upset when you cite it to them.

In Law school they teach us about the “eighth grade rule”. Basically if you’re going to say anything to a jury, make sure an 8th grader would be able to understand it… And after watching a few jury selections, that honestly seems optimistic.

The sad part is trans people lost rights in a lot of states. There was a blue wave, but this wasn’t a total win. The billionaire tax measure lost in California and measure 42 which did pass now makes a one time billionaire tax on assets impossible.
Up here in Washington, we managed to uphold our millionaire tax, but trans girls were barred from sports with bio girls, and schools can no longer withhold health and wellness information from parents (information that would out LGTBQ students to their parents, for example). Interesting to note, however, that while trans girls can’t play with bio girls, trans boys are free to sport it up with bio boys. I long for the day where a trans boy just trounces every bio boy on their team. The fallout from such an event would be legendary.
The other thing is the girls health checks to make sure they are a “born female”.
That was started in Florida by some pedophile doctors. I moved to get away from that shit and now it’s one state above mine
