I’m glad I’m older now and don’t find low quality sex jokes even remotely amusing. Don’t worry, kids. It goes away and you get to sigh at how stupid it really is.

Having no kids is also great if u want to fuck over the billionaire class. They can’t exploit people if there simply aren’t people left to exploit lol.

It’s a strange anti-human attitude. We should just go extinct as a species to own the bourgeoisie. I mean, the bourgeoisie needs workers like us, so by that logic, why not just all kill ourselves now to own the bourgeoisie, who will then have no workers left? It’s just such a freaking weird mindset I don’t get how there are 10 people who agree with you.

I think it makes for a nice hot take but it need some nuance.

Personally, I am not against kids at all but I am against kids within this system. It seems like for many when they think “Yay kids!” That is as far as the thinking goes, unaware that 20 years later those kids will be welcomed into the daily grind as just another meat cog for the machine. Again this is personally, others don’t have this concern and I am sure many can easily justify it.

The “no kids FU billionaires” is that same “yay kids” attitude flipped. It is an extreme end on a valid issue.

The reason why billionaires are starting to get very interested in the demographic and population issues is because they know that it will spell trouble for their power structure, it is the same reason why they are cuddling up to any authoritarian leaning government as a means to try and cling to power. So a knee jerk reaction is to feed into their fear, it can be fun, but short sighted.

No they will just get rid of education for lower class, and restore the birthrate lmao. This is not how we supposed to get rid of exploiters.

Ha, now that is a fun predicament.

I have a friend that had a daughter a few years back, he regretted it from day 1 as he basically lost his old life and wasn’t a fan of his new one. He has hated it at worst, tolerated it at best for the last few years. And yet, he has said to me “I think I am going insane, I hate ever moment of this… so why do I want another kid?!”

A lot of close friends with kids all say the same thing, they love their kids and they take great care of them, but if they knew then what they know now and could go back in time, they would make sure it would never happen.

One couple had their third about 2 years back and made sure that they would not have a forth because they were already financial strained. About 6 months after their third was born we were out and the mother turn to the father and says “I really want a forth now!” a brief pause then “And that is why past me was smart because past me stopped me from doing that.”

Biology is gonna do its thing.

I have wondered if “breeding kink” is really a kink in the way we usually use the term or it is just our animal instincts compelling us to reproduce which some people supress better than others.

  • Im old and out of the breeding pool, but I’m staunch anti-natalist when society becomes inhospitable or even hostile to future generations. The US has totally bought the ticket to ride to population implosion.

Although it’s not really that bad. Fertility dropped below 1.6, a number that is notable only because MAGA, white Christian nationalism and big capitalism are freaking out about it. But they’re still bankrolling manosphere influencers, and their followers are entirely repugnant and inelligible.

Case in point FBI having to inform ICE that the tradwife-minded women interested in them on dating sights actually just want to dox them.

Fertility of 2.1 is replacement, and in normal times, the US rate is still below that and made up by immigration. But that means whites would have to share their society with non-whites. As first and second generation immigrants work hard, commit fewer crimes (than the general public), take harsher jobs and pay their taxes, I guess they make their white-supremacist neighbors feel insecure.

Betas are going to be the next Silent Generations, the low-population gen born during the Great Depression, known to be a sad, cautionary lot with lifelong health problems. I do not envy them their future. And that’s even if none of the catastrophic existential risk scenarios manifest in their lifetime.

(We’re going to run out of water in their lifetime.)

I am 43 years old I live in a rural town of less than 4000 people. Everybody here is a hard-core Republican needless to say I have to do next to nothing in order to not get anybody pregnant.

Serious question: My partner is looking to get one, does it have much of an affect on sex drive generally?

IUDs work mechanically by inhibiting implantation of the zygote in the womb.¹ Contrast, the pill, which prevents contraception with hormones. This means your mood cycle will change less with IUDs

Note that some IUDs include a hormone component. Discuss with your doctor what is your best choice.

This also means complications with IUDs are also mechanical, most commonly unintended eviction. In prior eras, sone IUDS could scrape or puncture the uterus, but their design is vastly improved so its extremely rare.

¹ Yes, this freaks out the anti-abortion-access and anti-contraception-access crowds since they assert personhood at conception. To that, I offer this statistic from the Guttmacher Institute: 75% of all conceptions fail to result in live birth. By far the majority of them are due to failure to implant. Selection is intrinsic to the human reproductive process.

This also means the most populous place in the Christian Cinematic Universe is the Limbo of the innocents, on the fringe of Hell, at 300 billion souls, most of whom never breathed air. Unless Limbo is not cannon, in which case they go to the Hell of the Damned totalling 400 billion souls. Its awkward.

My partner experiences plenty of sex drive with one.

But the first period after she got it lasted weeks.

Then periods became very light. Which was the main draw, to reduce period pain in her case.

Til you don’t get periods with IUD. Does it just stop? Does the iud somehow stop the cycle?

IUDs (hormonal ones) thin out your uterine lining to the point where you get little to no bleeding. You still ovulate and go through a “cycle,” you just don’t bleed.

Supposedly it varies from woman to woman. Mine stopped.

Gemini claims the mechanism is that the low dosage of progesterone prevents the uterine lining build up.
