Make it a donut hole. Not eliglbe between the ages of 36 and 66 ^1/2. Drone technology can easily be applied to rollators and walkers.

And here I was expecting that AI will allow people to be more productive and retire early. Man, I was so naive.

No AI gets to make art and design systems which will leave us free to do the back breaking manual labor.

But at least it’s enabling child predators! Wait. Oh, no. Is AI actually a bad thing!?

I still have high hopes it’ll help the environment, at least?

Was? You think that AI is done causing problems? There are whole new classes of unknown problems waiting for us in the future…

If they’re voluntary participants in a hostile military conducting ethically unjustifiable actions then they’re not fucking innocent at all, dumbass

I’m not dying for rich people that got power and decided to break literally every stabilizing thing in geopolitics so that they could make more money and then start a war to cover it up.

I might die because of them, but there’s no way I’m dying for them. If they draft, I’m running. call me whatever you want.

In totalitarian regimes—communism, fascism, religious fundamentalism—popular support is a given. You can start wars, you can prolong them, you can put anyone in uniform for any length of time without ever having to worry about the slightest political backlash. In a democracy, the polar opposite is true. Public support must be husbanded as a finite national resource. It must be spent wisely, sparingly, and with the greatest return on your investment. America is especially sensitive to war weariness, and nothing brings on a backlash like the perception of defeat. I say “perception” because America is a very all-or-nothing society. We like the big win, the touchdown, the knockout in the first round. We like to know, and for everyone else to know, that our victory wasn’t only uncontested, it was positively devastating. -Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

        communism, fascism, religious fundamentalism

        democracy

Point of order, democracy is a mechanism for selecting leadership, not an ideology of governance.

Democracies routinely produce Communist, Fascist, and Religious Fundamentalist leaders.

Like, I know it’s a quote and all. But it’s just a Baby’s First PolySci view of how civilizations organize themselves. Not an ounce of Lockean Theory to be found.

That’s before you get into the reality of Republican governance and practical enfranchisement. You can’t go rolling up on Thomas Jefferson’s slaves and announcing “Idiots, it’s a democracy, why did you vote for this?”

Donald Trump and his war and all his followers can literally go fuck right on off with that bullshit. You can send all the republicans who voted for this shit including the republican senators. If 42 is cool, why not even older. Shit, they’ve lived their lives. Take one for the team guys
