It’d be more surprising if it DIDN’T run better.
For its implementation, generally Denuvo asks devs to call their check function somewhere in the core gameplay loop. From what I gather, many times this has happened, it’s been because the devs picked a function that’s happening much more than the check really needs.
That said, perhaps I’m to be proven wrong; but that often depends on a close look at the source code.

I almost wish I had literally any issue with the game, but it runs flawlessly for me, and it’s genuinely a great fighter. I hope they can sort this shit out, because I want more people to play with.

Too much work to do that, so very unlikely to happen. Our best bet is pressure on Sony forces them to remove DRM. ASW have to do what’s right and stand up for their reputation and customer base here. They’re the sole developers on this and RN they look really bad.
Sony won’t give a fuck because their priority is PlayStation, but ASW have always had a sizable, PC only community they’re currently letting down and eroding their trust. They need to push for meaningful action.
PlayStation multiplayer games suffer when there’s no one to play with, so there’s a chance.
Good performance isn’t necessarily an “issue” in the sense of something that would be reported. It’s an issue in the sense of stuff being left on the table for the sake of greed.
