The little engine that p’tach tlarrggma’ggogth
Blaine is a pain, and that is the truth.

Thanks, I hate it
Fun fact: there were actually times where railroads created train crashes as public attractions. One of the most well known is the Crush collision.
That’s crazy. I guess like the monster truck shows I remember as a kid in the 80s. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!
My first question was about safety.
Unexpectedly, the impact caused both engine boilersto explode, resulting in a shower of flying debris that killed two people[1] and caused numerous injuries among the spectators.
And was that really so “unexpected” that they exploded?
People were just really dumb about boiler explosions for a long time. Missisipi river boats for example had a period where maintenance was almost non-existant and they were almost always overloaded with passengers/cargo but the inevitable boiler explosions were considered to be acts of god. Huge disconnect between the people making the boilers and the people using them.
One of ever so many indications that idiots had money in earlier eras.
That is really interesting. I have never read about this, so the thing about the pipes was new to me. Here’s a cutaway look into a steam locomotive: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_locomotive#/media/File:Cutaway_steam_locomotive.jpg
Yeah, well, this image clearly says otherwise
You son of a bitch, you got me.
Clearly
The pipes are there to increase the surface area exposed to the coal bed heat.
It would also be super impractical to have a fire going underneath the entire boiler 😅 Much better to send the hot air «through» the water in pipes.
You have caused confusion and R’lyeh.
The horrors I could show you in a steam plant. So many things can kill you so horribly.
Have you heard the good word of hydraulic injection wounds?
Hard pass. I feel that this is one of those cases where ignorance is bliss.
It really is.
Ohhhh yeah bud oh yeah
This is why you’re supposed to suplex trains, not attack their heads.
Ghost trains are a thing, why not eldritch horror trains too?
Charles is a very bad train
That’s just Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train
