Whoever decided to put a rectangular table in a curved space is completely unqualified to make design decisions.

it’s more like colorfulness is connected to a hopeful outlook on life, and grayscale thinking occurs when people have depression …

For someone who is not on the usa. How does this structure look like beneath? Is there really space wasted to have some part of the room at a little lower level?

I’m fine with the 2010s era minimalist decor.

But painting over stone and high quality wood panels is crazy. If you want the minimalist look, then this wasn’t the house you start with. Fucking Beetlejuice ass joists.

They are both ugly. The only thing worth preserving is the stone wall and the beams. The wood paneling on the walls is most likely just veneer. I’m not really a fan of lacquered wood paneled walls unless they have some eye catching feature. The smoothness makes them look like a floor.

Really? The only ugly thing on the left is the carpet and its color.

It’s giving fancy doctors / realtors office now. I think a modern refresh on the original 60’s look would have been better.

People actually paint bricks, and it disturbs me. Bricks are so porous, and so unpainting them is an ordeal to say the least. I never understood painting brick. Brick looks nice. They made them look nice right from the brickyard.

Yeah, I see so much sandblasted brick these days from removing paint. I mean, it does look better than paint, but it’s so worn looking. Painting bricks is just a horrible idea.

Looks like what my cousin did to my grandparents house before flipping it for double what my mom got from them for it. Guess that’s what you get for being nice.

Laminate flooring from the discount aisle of the home improvement store. White base paint from the discount aisle of the home improvement store. Imitation leather from the… You get the point

That gray laminate is an instant no.

If houses had red flags, that gray flooring is one.
The clear, obvious message I receive every time I see that flooring is that someone went for cheap, cookie-cutter shit over every possible other option. They didn’t care, didn’t think things through, and have certainly hidden problems or improperly installed other parts of their cut-rate flip.

Natural materials people! And then leave them to age naturally and gracefully!

Everyone bitches about how fake everything has become. And then they go and do things like the right hand picture. Idiots. Idiots, the lot of them.

Yeah, painting the old wood and painting the brick is just too much. My home is pushing 100 and I have big old molding everywhere, but I’ve seen other houses in my neighborhood where folks have painted the big old molding - white obviously, because that’s apparently the only “color” - and to me it just begs to be burnt to the ground.
