I want it released already. Not because I’m going to be one of the many buying it or who pre-ordered it. But I’m sick of everything revolving around it. The Netflix Drama. Whether Rockstar uses Generative AI or not. The endless debates about the price tag. The activism people practice about digital vs physical that involves GTA 6.

Just tired of it all.

One of the most nonsensical things I see, the whole downvoting things that you don’t like or don’t agree with, even if it’s still being put in a negative light or the person is just curious and asking about it. Happens all over reddit, especially in comments. Obviously if someone’s stating rather than questioning and being bad faith or argumentative then I can understand it but it still happens all the time when they aren’t

To most people it’s basically just the “fuck you button”; my theory is it gives them a small burst of vindictive joy or something. I made an unpopular opinion post about this a while ago and the reception was basically peak toxicity. Even the mods piled on 😂

It’s that it’s not downvoting at this point. It’s brigading. That’s what I’m really annoyed at. It’s not that people disagree, it’s that everyone dogpiles on because GTA bad must hit downvote to send it to -1000. That ruins it for those who do want to enjoy it and makes it harder to see, and then we can’t have an honest conversation about it until someone posts “hey it’s kind of annoying that it’s being brigaded”

Seeing as Lemmy does nothing different than Reddit on a fundamental level, it’s no surprise we see the same problems. We’re just partially shielded from some of them by way of being a smaller community.
