boomer meme
Thank you
More accurate:
Metal guys: “Hey cool shirt”
🤘🏻
🤘
It was a trick. She knows Enter Sandman isn’t a Megadeth song, and now she knows you’re not a true metal fan.
The games over before it even started.
I love when someone asks this stupid fucking question to my wife when she’s in her full punk regalia.
She sizes up their outfit and immediately turns the question back to them, and most often sinks them like the titanic. Not that she couldn’t answer. But why in the fuck would she answer to you, asshole.
That’s punk as hell
She’s a pretty cool lady. Till she’s not.
The very premise of this in the first line of text is so sexist lol
Its not the first “women bad” meme OP has posted.
I can imagine. Such a troll.
Yeah I clearly hate women
Yeah we know
Lmao itll be wild when you meet an actual misogynistic person some day
So you dont even realize its you lmao.
A misogynistic ragebaiter that lacks the ability of self-reflection? yeah, that tracks
See? Wild!
Lmao thats awesome
This meme has text?
Sounds like you’re the sexist
Please explain how I’m the one who’s sexist? (I have you tagged as “
Not a very pleasant person”, wonder what this particular interaction will bring. 🤞)I went with
Bad faith idiot
🎯
You don’t think women should be in memes…
Not at all true whatsoever.
The way the meme is sexist is the line “Name one song by [metal band].”
It implies that whenever a woman says they like a metal band, she couldn’t possibly just be taken at face value, and her word be trusted, because women couldn’t “possibly” like something typically associated with men.
You’re overthinking it: “name N song(s) by $band” is a standard question asked by gatekeepers, it can be addressed to whoever regardless of gender. Not that sexists never use that line, just that it doesn’t necessarily imply anything about women in general.
This particular case is pretty clear though wouldn’t you say? Look at the subject.
The question isn’t the misogyny, it’s the acceptance of an incorrect answer because the person answering is an attractive woman that’s possibly sexist.
See, like I said you’re being sexist and trying to attack my stellar personal character.
…
I’m gonna take that guy’s advice and tag you as well
Troll, ragebaiter, mememin and guy just having a silly time are apt
Living up to my tag, I see. 👌
Why not block?
You need better hobbies my guy
I do lots of cool stuff irl. This is my place to be silly
This gatekeeping shit has always annoyed me while i was active in the goth and metal scene (which was and probably still is pretty small here, so the two tend to mix a lot).
I do only care about what shirt you wear as a global cue what style of music you might like or i like the design and artwork. The rest is really not that important.
I like a few bands where i would be hard pressed to name songs, because i only know them from streaming recommendations, which i only use while on the road; I might mark the band as a favorite, and some months later i go through my faves, check if they are still to my liking, and if they are, i make them available offline - that’s the point where i start learning album/track names.
“My black is blacker than your black”
Plus, how can I remember the name of the song when the lyrics are basically the sound of two wolverines mating.
The last part seldom is an issue for me, since i like my lyrics understandable, even if a substantial number of them might exceed the length of a telenovela-script lol
There are a few exceptions, but even those are more on the understandable side compared to how i expect a band named “Mating Wolverines” sounds - it IS an awesome bandname tho!
Do people still filter partners on music taste?
Maybe because I’m into extreme metal and both female fans in my county already had boyfriends, but I’ve never really cared what any partner listen to.
Dunno if it’s exactly a filter but I still go to a lot of shows and it’s not really fun to date someone who’s not interested in going to the same shows as me.
Not musical taste per se, but I think it’s valid to filter based on the prospects’ relationship to the artists they listen to.
The people that post celebrities getting married on their Instagram would be an immediate no-go for me, for example.
Kind of. They certainly don’t have to align with my personal tastes, but there’s a lot of music that I don’t personally care for that I have a lot of respect for. If the girl likes very different stuff than I do, she can still have excellent taste and there is a lot to talk about musically. Maybe she can help me get into stuff that didn’t initially hit for some reason, and expand my repertoire. If the girl has a godawful taste in music to where I have no respect for every artist she enjoys, she is probably not for me. This rarely happens to me though, usually it is basic taste at worst.
I mean I listen to a fuck ton of music, so if they have the same tastes as me that’s definitely a plus. Actually wanting to go to a rave with me is kinda cool. And if they were hardcore into like modern country then that’s a gigantic minus for me.
So yes, I absolutely would.
I listen to mostly death metal and my wife is into musicals. Its really not an issue. I have gone with her to Book of Mormon (a musical), she has gone with me to metal shows… actually she used to get me back stage to several (she worked catering). Neither of us is going to choose to play the others music when we are by ourselves, but we can find a little common ground regardless.
Plot twist: she’s a “Dave wrote 'em all” truther.
I’m just a nuclear strike casualty estimate unit enthusiast who isn’t too picky about spelling.
Looking at votes its funny how controversial this tame meme is.
Why do people dislike it?
Mustaine-Metallica bad blood (still??), or the meme implying metalheads aren’t picky? or that people have girlfriends? I’m outta ideas.
Because it reeks of sexism. The premise is that the person could be a poser (not knowing Megadeth songs), and this is applied mostly to women, especially when it’s based on just wearing a t-shirt : a dude with a metal shirt leads to “cool, a fellow metalhead”, a women with a metal shirt leads to “uh, is she a poser ?”.
The conclusion of being extra-fair about confusing two major bands, just after being overly picky, also implies that you have a good reason to change your mindset, and this stinks of sexist implications too.
Metalhead girls get this question way too often. If it one day crosses your mind to ask it, please at least rephrase it so it’s not accusatory. Just ask about their musical tastes or if they saw them live, like you would do with any one but not this fucking “name one song”.
Good
Its the high school level misogyny of ‘women cant be fans’ and its an overused ‘joke’
Racist
Oh I can think of so many reasons to downvote this!
The whole “name 3 songs” thing is sexist, it’s usually said to women in band shirts. It’s boring and old.
It’s had a shit filter applied to her face. I see the exact same face everywhere. She looks like a Barbie doll.
Why metal guys? Are they more shallow than the general population? I didn’t know that was a stereotype and I’ve been to my share of metal festivals.
But that’s nothing compared to the fact it’s not very funny. It’s Facebook tier humour. Haha men are blind when boobies are involved.
Thanks babe 😘 why don’t you contribute some god tier memes
Hah sorry bud, I didn’t actually downvote it and I’m sure I couldn’t do better. Just offering an explanation to the lost soul above
Much love
the meme is implying women can’t be real fans.
Is it though? Or is it more implying that these metal fans are horny?
If the joke is being horny, it implies that they treat the person as a women rather than a metalhead. In a context of metal bands, this is sexism. So it can be both horny and sexist.
Is it though?
tell me, looking at the picture, why would the author assume the person pictured wouldn’t know a song from megadeath?
Because she says enter sandman
the meme says that, AFTER they asked. why would they demand she name a song in the first place? what about her made them think she couldn’t?
If she was a real Megadeth fan she’d have hair like this

Better way to setup the joke would be to ask, “What’s your favorite Megadeath song?”
I don’t believe in women as a concept
Im going to guess because boobs.
I never worry about the votes. Lots of people will see a woman being hot as the main draw and automatically say its sexist I hate it. As if you can’t take a shitty thing and make it silly/funny/stupid.
I love Led Zeppelin!
Bonus: Her name is Lucretia.
Or is it Diana?
