In the absence of content destroyers, I’m happy to settle for content selectors, like OP.
I think TT, Meta, and Facebook are doing their damnedest.
We have those, they are called:
- Freebooters
- Media Management companies
- AI Scrapers

Isn’t that TikTok? Content creators create some really interesting and cool content.
And then Tiktok overlays unrelated fortnite footage while also putting giant cartoon bubble captions, but only 1 word at a time. Sometimes in an AI voice.
And try as I might, I cannot endorse that style/formula. Call me a lame boomer, but that just steals other talented peoples work, and shits all over it with almost zero effort.
Though as I type this, I realize this is Lemmy, and the majority of you probably won’t use Tiktok either for similar reasons, along with it not being open source.
Though to be fair, I would still hate the tiktok culture if it had originated on loops.
Or the reaction videos where the original video plays in the corner while the person points, nods, and makes faces
Or the videos where they take an old comedy skit and re-film it to make it look like their original content.
And AI in general.
Takes in content, chops it to bits, churns it out and clogs the feed.
The new style is actually worse. They cut / paste other people’s work (usually entire scenes from a movie) and then have an AI talking in the background. Normally the AI is so quiet you can barely hear it, but I guess it’s enough to bypass any censorship.
This sounds terrible, but i want to see an example. Any chance you can link me to a video that demonstrates this?

That corrupts. It does not destroy. AI is like giving the content an infectious autoimmune disease.
I routinely destroy the so-called “logic & believability” of shows I watch by calling out all the flaws I see. Does that qualify?

That’s censorship. Which I understand for hate speech, but it’s problematic if you censor stuff broadly.
