As a person with food texture issues AND a fan of tomatoes in all forms: A lot of tomatoes are selectively grown for weight to maximize profits, but as a result, they’re a loose blob of grainy and flavorless bullshit. This is especially true for chain fast food places where they’re trying to spend as little as possible on ingredients. Every tomato I’ve grown at home has been on a completely different level from the ones I’ve bought.
Disagree. The taste of tomatoes is horrendous until cooked and salted. That said, fried and salted Pico de gallo is one of the absolute best baguette toppings
Some people like a good contrast of textures in food. I prefer consistency. So I hate anything in a burger that has any amount of cold or crunch. Mushrooms I can do, but tomatoes make it worse for me.
Especially when you fail to bite all the way through the tomato and end up pulling the whole thing out along with half the other burger toppings.
The taste of tomatoes/ketchup is great.
The texture of tomatoes is horryfing and makes me shiver and gag.
They are not the same.

Yeah, it’s a texture thing for me, too.

Agreed. It must be some chemical in raw tomatos
