I know this is a meme but how often are people buying RAM that they find this relatable? I upgraded my PC to 32gb over a year ago, I sn’t that plenty for now?

It’s not that many people are upgrading all the time, but if you coincidentally need an upgrade right now you’re gonna talk about how it sucks. Leads to bias in what people talk about, I guess.

I sure know I’m talking about it a lot, since I was planning to build my first ever Desktop PC a few months ago and now I have all the parts except for the RAM and it sucks to be waiting for the prices to drop :(

We’re kinda at an in between point for DDR4 and DDR5, and the windows 11 hardware requirements BS, that its about time for a new PC for a lot of people.

      When I got my 64GB kit 3.2GHz, I was considering saving up for a 128GB 3.6GHz one.
I should have just bought the 128, then and there.

32 will be fine for a long, long time unless something with the RAM situation changes. Especially with PC manufacturers moving their “mid-tier” machines back to 8 GB, optimization will become mandatory to sell games.

        What’s costlier than increasing RAM?
Getting a GPU with higher RAM.

I’d say, we need to optimise for VRAM usage much more.

Especially since full time daycare typically is 200-$600/wk depending on the usual factors.

Every parent I know jokes they will turn it into a car payment 🤣
