Watching people who look like they should be knee-deep in a mortgage and two jobs going out on adventures on bikes hits a bit different.

If they were going to take 10 years to make a show, they should at least have had a story that spanned 10 years as well…

Don’t knock adults going out on bike adventures. My primary mode of transit is an ebike and I’ve had a lot of good adventures going on trails and roads. Unfortunately there are cars but I can’t help that.

I live next to a very popular MTB town. Everywhere I look it’s adults going out on bike adventures. It’s driving half the economy around here.

They’re all early 20s, which is the age everyone playing a teen was until the early 2000s. We’ve just finally evolved as viewers.

We’ve just finally evolved as viewers.

          I have a different theory.

There’s a big difference between casting an actor in their 20’s because they look young enough to pull off the teen thing and casting actual children in a show (finn was 14, brown was 12) who hit puberty in the middle of storytelling

The older teens’ actors where in their early 20s when the show started, which isn’t too bad. Definitely not “knee-deep in a mortgage and two jobs” age.

It’s mostly old men doing gruff old man dialogue, and I’m there for it.

It’s not a traditional movie with happy endings and shit.

      • Haircut Dude is a hit man. He’s a remorseless psychopath. He’s hunting dude 2.
      • Dude 2 stumbled across a bunch of money from a drug-deal-gone-wrong. He’s trying to hide from everyone who wants it back, including Haircut Dude.
      • Dude 3 is a sheriff. He’s also looking for Dude 2, as part of his investigation into the drug-deal-gone-wrong. He realizes pretty quick that he’s in over his head and probably gonna die.
      • Dude 4 is a bounty hunter. He finds Dude 2 and offers to protect him, in exchange for the money.
      • Haircut Dude kills Dude 2 & 4 & the drug dealers & several others, but he also randomly spares some people, including Dude 2.

I disagree with the other fella who said there’s no moral or theme. This story is all about destiny, fate and the ever-persistent approach of our own deaths, and also we’re all responsible for our own actions but maybe not our own fates. The story is dripping with metaphor.

Dude’s books are kinda just slice of life type shit. There is no over arching moral, they are not parables, it just is. Blood meridian really fucked me up trying to parse one of the main characters. It’s not worth it. Just take them as a story.

The woman that plays the radio lesbian on the show looks 40.

    Like. She REALLY looks 40.

I don’t know if she’s actually 40 or she’s just done some very hard living but it kind of kills the immersion a bit. Still a good show.

And while most people would say it’s not her fault that she’s subject to the capricious whims of time, I say that if she isn’t able to stop the progression of time using black magic or dangerous science then maybe she shouldn’t have been an actress. I mean, Julia Robert’s once spent thirteen years in 11:37 on September 24th, 2006, so don’t give me your excuses, lady.

Bro, grow up lmao. You’re on here spewing hate over a niche topic. And when people call you out for not sharing that opinion, you’re now getting upset that people are attacking your own views.

Do you want to be hateful without getting hated on? Do you really think that’s possible?

If you’re talking about Robin, I don’t understand how “radio” would describe her in any way. Also, how tf does she look 40yo to you?

Is that a season 5 thing? If so, it really doesn’t make sense to call her that, considering how long she had been a major character in the show. And considering season 5 started non-figuratively 3 days ago, it’s kind of insane to expect that everyone who knows Stranger Things understands the reference.

See, the thing is, I watch piss porn. Hear me out. I told my friend that the thing is, to do piss porn, you kind of have to be into it. You could try and fake it, but it wouldn’t be very convincing. So, my contention is, piss porn is more genuine than other types of porn, because the people partaking are statistically more likely to enjoy doing that type of porn. Which is great, I think, because then they really get into it, which is hot. It’s that enjoyment that gets me off. Their enjoyment.

She said, “Krooklochurm, you’re an idiot. Anyone can fake liking getting pissed in the face.”

So I said, “Well, if you’re so adamant, get in the tub and I’ll piss in your mouth, and let’s see if it’s as easy as you claim.”

So she said, “All right. If I can fist you in the ass afterwards.”

Which I felt was a fair deal, so I took it.

My (formal) position was strengthened significantly by the former event. And I can also attest that I could not convincingly fake enjoying being ass-fisted.

What does that have to do with anything, you ask? Genuinity. The real deal. That’s what.
