30.06 to the fucking neck. For those not in the know, that’s for taking a deer, through everything, lungs and heart. Considered a humane way to drop a medium-sized animal instantly. No pain. The shockwave is astonishing. Kirk’s brain and spinal column were shut down, he felt nothing, had no idea anything happened. He was “disconnected”.

My FIL shot a deer from front to back with that same round. He was so horrified seeing that animal ripple, never hunted again. I’m no hunter, but I feel him. I have my own reasons for not hunting.

Or, you’re living in WWII and shooting Nazis, which we see here. Get fucking used to it. This will be a sight on your own block soon enough. Take my AR? Aight. I’ll break out the 30.06.

Most gunshot deaths are exactly like this, with less spurting. Early internet, I saw a Mexican college kid protesting. Took a 12-gauge, 00-buck, straight to the chest, 12". He merely looked surprised, little blood bloomed on his shirt, dropped straight down.

It’s not Hollywood, people flying backwards through plate-glass windows. Nah. People simply drop on the spot, sack of potatoes. No drama. Simply dead. Early cowboy movies caught grief because the actors would simply drop when shot. That’s how it works.

I know most of y’all aren’t shooters. Here’s my poor joke on the difference in AR-15 rounds vs. 30.06. Charlie was hit with a fucking cannon.

Hunted a bit growing up. My guess is, if you hit a human pretty much anywhere above the thighs with .30-06, they’re not going to live through it. The hydrostatic shock is devastating and the exit wound is significant.

If the round was armor piercing, .30-06 has enough force to go through a car engine block.

It’s ‘humane’ to shoot the deer in the heart! You’re not supposed to give the deer a rectal exam with them!

Did you get the rounds backwards or am I not smart enough to get the joke…

Shot goats with the .303 and yeah, they didn’t slow down at all

I thought it was a .30-06. A .223 could do that at 200 yards, but the way it took him out looked almost identical to a good killshot on a deer. And the .30-06 was designed for much longer ranges than a .223.

You can survive a lot of gunshot wounds. It’s not as sure and final as you make it out to be.
