You wouldn’t believe how proud I was of the spaghetti I made for my date when I was 18 yo.

Boy dinner.
Let them cook.
Like any food, it depends on if it was frozen/boxed or actually cooked. If that mac is homemade then kudos to the cook
Literally making this right now
And that’s the fancy Mac and cheese with the cheese in the pouch, not even the powder one.
Damn, he put pepper on the mac and cheese for you? He must be really fond of you.
That’s basically a marriage proposal.
IDK, not saying this isn’t a good meal, but I seems to me this kind of post just implies that most men can’t cook for shit. Most of my male friends are good cook and can make much better meals than that. Guessing it’s an amrrican thing.
Isn’t professional cooking even male dominated? AFAICT most kitchen chefs are male. That always made this weird stereotype of “women belong in the kitchen” and “men can’t cook” super weird to me.
pretty much, but funny thing is people marrying a chef expecting gourmet meals, just get microwave slop.
I think that’s possibly the single most sexist stereotype: “Cooking is for women, unless you’re really really good at it”
I broke the cycle. My mom is an awful cook, and I can turn any red meat into goodness.
Most red meat can be turned good by simply existing. So long as you don’t burn it, it’s hard to fuck it up too bad otherwise.
Montreal steak seasoning, soy sauce, and 40 minutes at 350 will make any red meat amazing though.
I hate when I see a video going “here is my go-to lazy meal for when I’m totally beat” and the first thing they do is start chopping an onion.
A lazy meal is a bag of beige crap from the freezer, dumped into an oven tray and left for 20 minutes on gas mark 8. If it’s more effort than that, you can stick it.
I buy frozen chopped onions and pepper and onion mix because I fucking hate chopping. Admittedly, the peppers aren’t as good vs fresh, but I will deal with subpar peppers to not have to chop anything. I will say, one annoying thing is fewer and fewer grocery stores stock frozen chopped onions, likely due to lower margins because they are usually dirt cheap, like $1/ bag.
If you get used to cooking chopping an onion isn’t work.
Agreed. I cook every single meal my family eats, one onion is under 30 seconds of faff. Even thin-sliced.
it’s like when someone uploads a video of “cheap diy project” and half the materials is a couple hundred dollars of stuff they already own from previous projects. or “cheap optiplex gaming pc” and the gpu is a rtx 3090 nvidia gave them for free for being a tech youtuber.
I never complain about someone giving me prepared food. I spend so much of my life obtaining, storing, preparing, and cleaning up after making food that I see any meal given to me as a wonderful gift of time.
Vegetables.
Steamed, blanched, stir fried, raw, broiled, grilled… Depends on your preference, and depends on the vegetable, but that meal desperately needs some.
At least it’s not an absurd quantity of macaroni and deep fried… nuggets? Based on the size of the noodles, it seems to be a small plate. But, that’s an oily and greasy plate of stuff.
Even just 1 minute to chop up a bell pepper or some celery will give you a nice juicy crunch and some fiber to offset that grease and oil. And/or, with some advance planning, some nice cherry tomatoes. The acid and juice would offset the grease nicely.
Macaroni is a pasta. Pasta is made of wheat. Therefore mac and cheese is a vegetable.
Don’t forget the breading on the mechanically-separated chicken bites. And the pepper. All plant-based.
Things you say to your oncologist to explain you can’t have cancer because you live healthy.
Should’ve been dino nuggs, but apart from that I don’t see a problem here.
Some green beans and spinach would be nice. Otherwise, looks pretty good
What is this? Girl dinner?!?!
