If you haven’t played this game, check it out (at least the story) - it’s become one of my favorite rpgs.
Good changes. I definitely abused Lune’s Thermal Transfer bug during early/mid game, so I’m sad to see it go. I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed playing her as much without all the extra AP generation.
Was Thermal Transfer always granting an extra turn? I remember being confused by it because it felt inconsistent and didn’t seem to match the wording. Maybe I just wasn’t paying super close attention.
I think I was mostly using her to set fires to the up Miele to get back into that 200% damage stance.
I did not expect to be moved by the story though.

It made the final choice have some serious weight. I chose to let what’s his face rest. I couldn’t bring myself to reload and choose the other option.
Yeah as long as the target had burn, you were getting the extra turn. Someone said it only worked if the whole party was up, which may be why it didn’t work every time.
And agreed about the ending - I had to put the controller down and think things through because my heart was torn.
Ah shit I was really hoping that was a documentation issue, not an implementation bug. Deep down I knew the truth. Autoplay Dialogue will soothe that pain though. I’m going through my first playthrough and having to manual “Next” all the dialogue is a bummer.
I’m long finished with this game (well, playing it at least, I’m still watching others play it) but these are great changes. Battle Retry is fantastic but this:
Autoplay Dialogue: Added an optional autoplay feature for dialogues outside cutscenes.
is also fantastic for an overall smoother experience. Was very noticeable in the (many) camp conversations where having to input “next” all the time made them feel very stilted. Especially jarring since the dialogue in actual cutscenes is so fluid.
Quality of Life Improvements
- Battle Retry Prompt: A new pop-up window appears after defeat, giving you the option to quickly retry the battle.
I haven’t tested the patch out yet, but boy this would have come in handy the last two times I played.
I just started Act 3, unaware of the specific changes to the patch, and was surprised when “retry the battle?” Popped up.
Very useful!
Nice, I really enjoyed this game and I’m done for now but these changes look great for those who come after.
I see what you did there. I am one of those who will come after, but alas, being an old gamer means I still have to finish a list of other games
I’m interested to see the changes to stains to make them easier to read and distinguish
e: I like it, it’s maybe not perfect for me but it is a marked improvement
