I tried watching one anime to see if I was wrong. Watched high school of the dead, was met with crazy bouncing boobs between a sniper rifle shot. Regretted my decision immediately. All of it screams pedophilia to me.
It’s one thing to have a cool shot, but it went on for 10+ seconds of bouncing animated tits. Just not interested in animated porn. Maybe if it was 12.
I feel like if you’re gonna give a specific style of media exactly one good faith try, that should warrant a bit more careful curation lol. Like, why not go with something pretty much everyone agrees generally is great like a Ghibli film? What made you choose THIS anime of all things?
Would probably help if ya watched some Seinen which is generally of a higher quality. May I suggest Hellsing Ultimate and Black Lagoon? Just be ready for some proper ultra violence, also pretty sure all the characters are of age.

There’s been great stuff since the 80s. Even some of the stuff that became popular outside of the typical anime fandoms, you have things like Cowboy Bebop, which oozes style, and the 2 FMA series that have solid storytelling and complex characters with great music and animation.

99% of all media is garbage. Anime is not special in that sense.
