    I still don’t get the “Nobody:” meme format. It wouldn’t have a different meaning without it. Or is this the meme format that marked my transition to old age? I no longer understand the youths?

      It means that nobody asked for or requested it, but they still do or state something stupid. They just do “that”, even if they don’t have to.

      I think it originates and makes the most sense in someone posting a wild defensive explanation for something that wasn’t attacked to begin with, only because they want to state their opinion on something that nobody gives a shit about.

      If the thing is stupid enough to be funny on it’s own, then it can easily be omitted, but it has that extra layer of the poster basically asking “why’d they wanna do that”. This indicates that the poster themselves is two steps away from whatever foolish thing is going on and only observing them for amusement.

        So in this context is the meme saying that “nobody” has noticed girls thirst trapping on Insta? That’s something everybody notices! Or is it saying that nobody says nothing, a double negative meaning that everybody agrees?

          I read it as if nobody asked them to thirst trap. We all know they do it for views, but it’s mildly confusing when you’re actually searching for arm workouts to be presented with an instructor who tries to show her butt every chance. It’s something they came up with unprompted.

      Nope, it’s always been dumb (even doe I gotta admit I used it once or twice) and the meme would absolutely have the exact same meaning without it. Truth be told I don’t know if there is a meaning behind it but I assume there isn’t or it has been lost with age and overuse.
