Stretch and exercise.
It’s going to determine how long you live 99% of the time. Yes there are those rare people that can smoke 20 packs a day and live to 110, that’s not you.
If you don’t start stretching and exercising now, you’re not going to see past 60 and your life from 40+ is going to be nothing but pain, doctors visits and expensive medicine until eventually you die.
So just go do 10 minutes stretching and 20 minutes of exercise.

If you really did this at work, make sure they know and report. Then you can get medical care on their dime.

I’m only 40 but my body feels like I’m 80. I moved apartments 2 years ago, 3rd floor to 3rd floor. I literally almost died, my chest was pounding I couldn’t stand I was struggling to breath. I ended up laying on the floor for about an hour, being wiped with wet washcloths to stay cool and trying to drink plenty of water.

Take care of your body, mine is too late but hopefully you still have time.
Lol it wasn’t serious. Little bruise and a reminder that my body doesn’t enjoy that kind of abuse the way it used to. I should probably stay out of mosh pits from now on. But I’m learning that I can’t rely on youthful energy, caffeine, and processed sugar to get me through life anymore and I’m taking steps to keep myself in shape.
It’s never too late to get in shape, but 40 is a really long way from being too late to get in shape.
If you have decent health insurance, DO NOT go through workers comp. “Their dime” isn’t worth 2¢ and they’ll delay so long irreversible consequences will result.
If you fall and break your leg at work, drag your one-legged ass to your car, drive home, call an ambulance, and say it happened there, then use your insurance.
Never use workers comp unless you have no other choice. It’s not fair but it’s your health.
I don’t know, I only had 1 experience (small-ish explosion causing temporary hearing damage and temporary back pain). I had multiple witnesses, approved procedure by ehs rep and video evidence of adhering to procedure. Co-worker tried to “help” and caused it. Never even saw a bill or got a single call for money. I think it may just vary by company.
Fuck you, fuck your mother, and fuck your mother’s dog. You deserve to suffer every day of your life for shilling for this bullshit.
A co-worker of mine lost the use of his arm due to delays from those assholes, another lost the use of both legs for years and still can barely use his legs with the aid of crutches, and I got off lucky with just some hearing damage that could have been mitigated.
Don’t listen to this asshole, if you have decent insurance, use it, didn’t go through worker’s comp.
Maybe I just had a good company, I don’t know. I understand there’s assholes and bad situations. Maybe I got lucky. I’m just stating my experience and you stated yours. Yes they are different but everyone has different experiences.

I started doing ghkcu, bp, tb, kpv, peptides and all the pain is gone. Carpol tunnel gone, and the pain i had in my shoulder blade. I feel 25 again.
What does all that letter soup mean? Genuine question
They are types of injection peptides.
Weak skeleton BITCH. drink more cow titty juice to make strong adamantium bones. My Skeleton will go forth and conquer the world when I die. Your days are numbered.
The little “ow” in the bottom right got me.
Hey, Fellow GenXers. here’s a G.I. JOE PSA
You old, if your blood pressure is a bit high, it makes you feel like a stuffed sausage going up steps. Blood pressure medication is fucking awesome, and too many people put off getting it. I felt 10 years younger getting that sorted.
We need a whole series of PSA ads by our classic cartoon characters. Imagine He Man reminding us to keep our cholesterol in check, or Smurfette telling you get get your annual colonoscopy.
Id happily learn anything from the Animaniacs
I think Fensler is still kicking it around somewhere…
Ah, Gastrointestinal Joseph, my favorite
Helped a mate drag a washing machine from the attic the other day. My body is broken.
Whoever decided attics are a good place to put washing machines can go fuck his entire self and then some.
A washing machine in the attic? Washing machines are a bottom-floor by-an-exit appliance. They can leak. You don’t want a leak in an attic.
Several months ago, I was moving some boxes in the attic and torqued my lower back just wrong. Felt like I had a spear stabbed into me. Could barely move. Had to park myself on a heating pad and take a liver-destroying dose of an NSAID to recover.
huh, so my dad had back problems his entire life. he trained me to put cold on my back if i hurt it. basically, if there’s a pinched nerve, the cold reduces the inflammation. eases the pressure. whereas heat expands everything, and could (doesn’t always) increase the pinch on the nerve or cause a spasm.
and y’know, what you’re taught as a kid is what you think is normal. has putting heat on your back ever caused it to get worse? more i think about it the more that sounds bullshit to me.
Some recommend heat, some recommend cold, some recommend alternating between them. My back was ‘seizing up’ and the heat seemed to relax it. I mostly think it’s just something to do while waiting for the drugs to kick in.
Moving can’t hurt if you never move.
This message brought to you by the desk job gang
Standing desk squad got beef yo
standing desk squad got the best chairs
I know this is supposed to be a joke but not moving makes everything hurt more. In case you haven’t tried, you should actually try moving ;p
yeah, i got a recumbent bike, and not moving while my body whizzes along the road and gets a little movement is so much better for it. all the little microadjustments the muscles have to make for the bumps and shit, you don’t get them in the fancy desk chairs. i’m healthier than i’ve been in years thanks to that thing, and some days i’m just exercising the throttle.
Tell that to my horrible sitting posture.🦐
Give it ten years.
🫂
Thank you. I have a bruise on my ass.
