This is a problem for adults too, which is why they make dedicated distraction free writing devices and software. It’s not the screens, it’s how they are being used.
Call me old school, or just old, but my goto dedicated distraction free writing devices are a stack of paper (I prefer it bound in some kind of notebook) and a pen.
And I have spent the majority of my life in front of a screen, for both work and pleasure. /shrug
