Would be hilarious if China figured out efficient electrolysis and powered all their stuff using hydrogen but our huge and inefficient data centers needed all of our fresh water.
Hilarious. 😒

I hope MAHA is also livid over this.

Right. I mean, do you think they primed these models with top-secret munitions manuals?

A shared volume could help with this but of course every container needs to be on the same version to benefit from deduplication.

But wait, if they take over eBay wouldn’t they control a majority of the used game market?

We’re also desperate to lock up or deny visas to anyone that isn’t “American enough” so the best and brightest youths from around the world are probably going to study in China instead.

Their brains are literally not fully developed. Some facets of life they’re literally ill-equipped to handle and policies should reflect that.

Yeah, nice try. I still block Spotify on all my devices.

Damn it! We specifically said not to attack those!
Okay. One more time! Here’s the no-go list:
How hard is that!?!?

Don’t think Docker Desktop would simplify networking, unless it added a new feature since I last used it ~2 years ago.

There’s a difference between monitoring driving and monitoring drivers. I would be less concerned about tech that identifies when I’m running stop signs, drifting into other lanes, or quickly braking without a nearby obstacle to warrant it. This sounds like it’s monitoring the human driver, at all times. Given the bullshit this admin is up to I wouldn’t put it passed the software or hardware makers to “calibrate” it by race so black and brown people are 3x more likely to trip the sensors.

I’m sure that’s what it will be: proprietary and questionable algorithms to identify anyone that might not be a 3+ generation American of European origin.

Think of the CEOs.

I didn’t know this kind of thing was possible until recently. I straight up couldn’t leave a site because of hijacking.

And a government backdoor.
Sure an APC/UPS is pretty much necessity but I’ve also had services that lost their mind when the internet went down for more than a few mins. I also personally wouldn’t rely on a UPS keeping the server up long enough for power to be restored (depends on capacity and load, etc.). Sometimes a graceful shutdown paired with WoL is better.
Lots of ways to approach these issues which is why infrastructure engineers get paid well.

Streisand Effect incoming. I for one heard of it but thought it was a run of the mill JRPG. Think I’ll check it out now.
Maybe I’m just unlucky but I’ve experienced plenty of power outages that negatively affected my servers (mostly services not coming back up properly) so I’ve found it more worthwhile to optimize boot and recovery time.

Wonder if I got a scam call via AI the other day. It seemed more sophisticated than other ones I’ve gotten and things they said to me were very reassuring but I insisted on calling them back via their public-facing support line. Nobody knew what I was talking about when I called back.
POTS (legacy service) is harder to trace but for everything else it shouldn’t be hard to have cryptographic signatures per call. No call signature then you should know immediately the caller is trying to hide something.
