Maybe we should build streets especially for them, then. Except I don’t think they’ll need the full width of a normal street. With their computer-driven precision they could probably get by with just a couple of narrow strips of metal.
And you could probably optimize traffic by increasing the size of the cars to include a lot more seats, or even standing room. Or even connecting multiple cars together for efficiency if there are a lot of other people who want to take the same route.
People always complain about “reinventing the wheel,” but it just brings me so much joy when the discussion inevitably ends in rediscovering trains as the ideal mode of transportation.
