Don’t know if anyone has tried or if it’s well known, but I did. There was a brief period where I could wake it with my Xbox series controllers but then valve pulled the feature for bugs which I never experienced.
I first tried with the dongle which wakes it as expected on my Linux desktop and my steam deck. Then I paired it with Bluetooth mode and was able to wake it without issue.
Any Bluetooth controller can wake the Steam Deck. They had to disable it for a while due to bugs but it was re-enabled in a recent update.
My 8bitDo Ultimate 2 wakes my Steam Deck.
Is it the LCD model? Because valve pulled an experimental feature. It momentarily worked on my Xbox series controllers but then it was pulled. I don’t know why, people claim the BT version can’t support wake but that’s obviously false.
Yes, it’s been reintroduced in the latest stable update (3.8)
Weird I still can’t wake with Xbox series controllers.
How recent was that? Would love to be able to do that with my Xbox controllers
It hit the stable channel this week, so fairly recent (unless you’re on the beta os)
Nice, that bugged me for a while now
Yes, Gen1 LCD. Like the other person said has been working for a while but I’m on beta updates.
Ah, I’m on stable. My Xbox controllers still won’t wake it.
The OG steam controller can do it too, at least if you’re using the dongle
When they first introduced it, my Bluetooth earbuds would wake it up every time I took them out of their case.
Oh man I used poxelbuds with mine at the same time and never had an issue. Like I said, didn’t affect me but it sucks so many had issues.
Amazing, I tried it when I first got the controller and it didn’t seem to work. I’ll definitely give it another go because this would make things so much more convenient.
The recent SteamOS update reenabled wake on Bluetooth for the LCD model.
I can live without it but I do love it, glad to see it works!
