To me the problem with kids is not the content but their delivery. A kid whose excited can’t tell a story for shit, it’s just a rambly mess of words. I pretend to be enraptured and entranced ofc for their development but god is it a tough listen

Yup! My nephew does that when he sees me. Just starts telling me a story and halfway through he starts making shit up. I assume to keep me interested in the story. But it’s just random things happening that I’m sure is just a mashup of something he heard on YouTube or something. I love that kid but he sucks at talking right now.

The real issue is that my kid will only wants to talk about their crappy 2IV build of Lucario. I need to hear about the 6IV Lunala/Koraidon Apex build or I don’t give a shit.

Oh, dude, I hear that. I’ve always told people that the secret to having a good relationship with your kids is: Love what your kids love, and your kids will love you.

So one day I was waiting in line at Chipotle, standing next to a table with a guy and his teen son, who was going on and on about an episode of Dragonball Z in intense detail, as his Dad looked like he wanted to die.

I went home and called my son, who knows my philosophy, and told him about seeing the guy and his son, and said “I have to give the guy credit for hanging in there, but if you had been a Pokemon or Anime kid…I would have had to cut you loose.”

He laughed, and said he would have deserved it.
