I know this is supposed to be funny, but I have to admit this one actually hurt a little.

I’ve struggled with this for most of my life. I know I have a tendency to take things more seriously than other people, and I wish I could explain how exhausting that can be sometimes.

It’s not that I don’t understand humor or that I can’t appreciate a joke. It’s that my brain immediately starts looking for the meaning behind things, questioning the implications, trying to understand why something is funny in the first place.

I’ve spent years wondering if there’s something wrong with the way I engage with the world. I’ve lost connections with people because of it, and there have been plenty of moments where I’ve walked away from a conversation wondering why I couldn’t just be normal and laugh along with everyone else.

Sometimes I just want to feel like I belong.

Are you trying to insinuate I don’t have a sense of humor or are you making a broad argument about reading comprehension? Either way, I fully expect you to debate me in this here comment section. I demand you take responsibility for your meme. It’s freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences.

Yes, welcome to 95% of Lemmy. Serious crossover with the group that thinks they’re revolutionaries because they post on some backwater social media platform.

People shouldn’t joke about things that upset me, that’s all. And they should just instinctively know when I’m in a bad mood and more critical than usual, so they can post accordingly. OP really shouldn’t make light of this very important issue.
