Love Bandcamp.
Can you explain more on those artists? I can’t find them and never saw anyone charging more for FLAC. Or is it outside of Bandcamp?

In a world of subscription services, Bandcamp’s a breath of fresh air. You pay, you own it. You can download it and store it wherever you want and play it to your heart’s content. Their cut is reasonable and the artists are well paid, it feels great to own stuff and reward the people making it.
They also do Bandcamp Fridays! These are the dates where all of the revenue goes directly to artists, without the usual 15% share for Bandcamp. Here is the list for this year if anyone’s curious.
Gonna jump in and say if you want to support a small artist, and fairly active Lemmy user, I’m on Bandcamp and just posted week one of a two week track-a-day competition:

As the other posted said, it’s easy to see something like this and get the knee-jerk reaction of “stupid ads!”, especially in a place like fediverse where many people are overly sensitive towards such possibility (I know I am). I’m always curious about new stuff to listen to so I’ll make sure to check it out when I can.
To be honest: I was a little butthurt when I made the edit, any listening you do I appreciate! I should have mentioned in my comment you can listen for free on SoundCloud.
Completely understandable. Getting annoyed or defensive is a pretty natural reaction when people just downvote and move on, without articulating their reasons. I get why people did it but I also understand the frustration.
Current state of social media can be a pretty draining experience.

People don’t like ad’s, even if it’s just you mentioning your thing in a context that makes sense. It’s always a slippery slope to reddit, meaning bots that try to sell you something when a post includes a similar keyword. Not to say that’s what you are doing
