To the Leadership of Sequoia Capital,
We, the undersigned global founders from across the tech industry, are writing to demand immediate and decisive action in response to the unacceptable conduct of your partner, Shaun Maguire. His recent post on X on July 4, 2025, along with a documented pattern of anti-Muslim rhetoric over the past two years, has caused significant harm to the global tech community.
comes from a culture
America?
No idea who the Maguire fellow is, but since he works for a large American VC firm, the piece about “coming from a culture of lying” is clearly projection.
How can this be projection? Silicon Valley’s culture brought us fraudulent medical tech, cryptocurrency scams, industrialized wire fraud, illegal taxis, and DRM juice machines. A paragon of honesty and integrity if I ever saw one.
White people get really triggered by uppity brown people.
I’ll be honest, all statements against Mamdami have been by rich people. They’re trying to make it a race thing where it’s a rich people thing
Stop making shit about race or skin if you want to beat racism
Edit: The post is about people who are anti-Islam, an increasing trend about a growing religion. It has nothing to do with the colour of people’s skin. Making it about that doesn’t help get more to realise that racism is wrong. Generalising all white people will put some people off from going against morons like Shaun Maguire.
“comes from a culture that lies about everything”
What do you think he meant by that ?
How the logic of his statement works seems very plain to me, we’ve seen that a million times.
Yes Shaun Maguire is a racist, that’s obvious. Heck he specifically mentioned the Islam.
But that doesn’t mean people should continue this trend by saying crap like this
White people get really triggered by uppity brown people.
That was what I was responding to since the comment of Shaun was about the religion
It’s literally a virtue to lie if it advances his Islamist agenda
Sorry it seems you’ve stepped into the wrong timeline.
No, people need to stop making shit about race or skin if you want to beat racism. We are all people in the end.
That’s a much better way to explain your point. Thank you for clarifying.
Yeah, sorry, my bad. I changed the original comment as well
you’re preaching to the choir here.
Well probably, but having the discussion about what is acceptable and not is a discussion we should have to make the world a better place.
Rich people*
think about everything they wrote about Joe Biden just a year ago
How does sharing xenophobic bullshit on twitter “harm global tech community”?
if people dont like you they might not feel inclined to give you money
What?
