You don’t have to vote for a Democrat.
People have been voting Democrats the whole time on our path to where we are, it didn’t stop us from being doomed. We had 2 Obama terms right before Trump 1, then we had a Biden term between Trump 1 and 2 and it stopped/fixed nothing.
The reason there isn’t any other option is because nobody puts in the effort to add other options.
There’s a Simpsons meme currently in Active on 196 rn from 1994 pointing out how ineffective both parties are. People have had longer than I have been alive to work on a third way.
America isn’t collapsing now all of a sudden. People have been passively watching it die for decades.
You don’t have a say in the dictatorship of capital and white supremacy so it doesn’t matter what you do. If it makes you feel better then do it but it doesn’t accomplish anything.
No, they absolutely want you to think voting is the only way to achieve change, despite organizing being a far more consistent and effective lever to pull than voting. They want you constrained within the boundaries of electoralism because they set up the system so the house always wins, regardless of party.
“Demanding that they do better” isn’t what I’m talking about. The system is designed precisely to not damage the profits of Capital. Asking the Dems as nicely as possible will not make things better. This strategy does not work. In order for government to listen to the working class, it needs to be owned by the working class, not Capitalists. Everything else would be table scraps.
Further, the Dems can’t prevent the country from driving off a cliff, the US Empire has been in decline as more countries have gone against its plunder. There’s less plunder now, so the working class feels the squeeze the most. We need to organize and sieze control.
No, they definitely want us to think that it matters despite all evidence to the contrary[1][2][3][4], because they don’t want us rolling out the guillotines.
No, they want you to think that voting Democrat will change things. Guess what. Democrats have a serious track record of escalating just as much as the Republicans. You think neoliberalism is a Democrat thing? No. It started with Reagan. You think the Republicans are the only war mongers? No. Clinton launched the first ever preemptive war for humanitarianism and Obama killed the first US citizen in a foreign land by direct order with a drone strike. You think the Republicans are the racist ones getting black people killed in the streets? No. The Democrats are in full support of transferring military surplus to local police around the whole country.
They want you to think voting matters because then you’ll spend all your energy voting and getting others to vote. The reality is that the march of fascism happens whether you vote or not and whether the Ds win or the Rs win. You will get the same net result no matter what. Just read the last century of American history. Even FDR’s New Deal was his gambit to save capitalism from the revolutionary conditions of the time. He says his greatest achievement was saving capitalism.
That’s the entire reason for the existence of the Democrats in this era - prevent revolt.
You’re spouting leftist rhetoric as if you’re actually on the side of the working class, yet have no problem snubbing the actual work and resorting to billionaires’ pet AIs. Be consistent, you poseur. If you actually cared about the working class you wouldn’t be rubbing artists out of the picture by using genAI, and you’d certainly be against the potential for AI to erase millions of jobs and devastate the environment with energy demands.
You make this point like there’s any other option.
I would love to not have to vote for a Democrat.
But I have to, because we are all doomed.
You can join Leftist parties and try to build up alternatives that can avoid doom, you don’t have to side against the people trying to save us all.

That’s what they want you to think.
I’ve been voting in every election and primary for the last 25 years.
When will it start to effect change?

You can do both, you know? Vote for the party that doesn’t want to drive the country off the next cliff, and demand that they do better.

Neoliberalism started before Regan, Carter passed tons of neoliberal reforms. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/jimmy-carters-ruinous-neoliberal-legacy/
I’d probably date it to 1971 when it came to ascendancy, though the tendency was around earlier still. It was under a republican but it was Nixon.

“intellectual property” is a form of private property. It benefits the owning class, not the working class.
