actually, from a historical perspective, it’s been the Dems who have accelerated ICE. Biden and especially Obama were much more instrumental in the agency coming into more and more power. Trump’s getting to play with the toy now, but it was bought by Dems.
the civil rights movement has been incredibly whitewashed in US education. Americans were overwhelmingly against de-segregation, there was tons of violence against black Americans, and that violence was not solely committed by police officers.
The Klan might seem like a relic of the past now, but the KKK was incredibly powerful during the 50s and 60s, to the point where in my home state, 1/3 of men were Klansmen and were a significant political bloc. They weren’t just voting in politicians that supported their vile views though, they were lynching people and burning crosses on lawns and shit.

If you’re interested, I’d recommend reading through the works of José Peirats, especially The CNT in the Spanish Revolution: Volume 3 which details the numerous different ways that the Soviets suppressed and terrorized the syndicalists, going as far as imprisoning and torturing anarchists and anti-fascists.
a big part of it was people seeing first hand the Soviet’s sabotaging the CNT-FAI’s efforts, which I imagine was part of what turned Orwell against communists later in his life.
I still contend that if the Soviet’s supported the Syndicalists as much as the Nazis supported the Nationalists, CNT-FAI would have won the war.

There’s also obviously a bit of confirmation bias in play, you only remember the times they got it right as opposed to the times they guessed wrong.

I mean, I think it’s fine as a gimmick for wealthy gamers, and it’s been at that level for awhile.
As the future of gaming though? yeah, never gonna happen. M+KB is the best controlling scheme for tons of the genres I play, and controllers are great for a bunch of others. There’s actually not that many genres that are improved by full body motion tracking, they’re pretty much all first-person games, and they often turn a relaxing gaming session into a workout. It’s not that the technology isn’t there, it’s that the concept it’s fundamentally flawed.
Did you know YouTube has games now? They load near instantly, easily accessible on mobile or desktop, and they’re p much all shit. Most of them are basically generic asset flips or imitations of popular mobile games. I really can’t think of anything closer to cheap fast food.
Oh god, I love the anime but yeah I can understand that their super loosey-goosey style of episodes would be p bad if you wanted super detailed organizing. The place I’ve been watching them just groups the content into a single episode, since they effectively are broadcast as one single piece, just with (potentially) multiple chapters.
