Don’t tell the Russians what you’re doing Andy
Including Zionist disinformation?
Western governments should look in the mirror, instead of solely putting the blame at information-campaigns from foreign actors. The whole reason why these theories seem plausible to your own citizens, is because they have no faith in you; because you have a track record of acting against their best interests. An increasing number of people are sick of hearing one-sided, fearmongering, and escalating narratives, where anything that challenges that, be it truthful or not, may resonate with this group. And good luck discerning disinformation from misinformation, where the only difference is intent; which will be challenging to substantiate.
So the government will fight the government too?
This is an example of the daily disinformation I encounter

The Ministry of Truth (1984)
Inb4 “fighting disinformation” turns out to mean “further cracking down on people protesting the genocide of Palestinians” in practice, while actual disinformation continues to go unchecked or even be protected.

Cut the fibres to russia. Mandate blocks on non individuals accounts on all social medias from south east asia, Russia, China.

I think that boat has probably long sailed, but worth a shot, at least he’s trying.
He’s just Starmer with better people skills so I’m not a fan. Won’t be a supporter unless/until they stop the authoritarian bullshit but I’ll applaud the small wins
This might be the one topic I am optimistic about: information and misinformation/disinformation happen every day, all day. Starting fighting disinformation now is better than starting tomorrow. And there are always new generations entering into the digital age that need support and scaffolding.
