Behind the scenes reporting says it had been a while since Destiny turned a profit, and by the time The Final Shape came out, the damage was already done. The reason they’re not continuing with it is that it just burns through money.
How did they think it would be any different? - when they remove the entire beginning of the game and expect people to just watch ~15 hours of archived gameplay on YouTube to understand what is going on - they were never going to gain new players, even as F2P.

Yeah the whole studio has been run like shit for years. They’re looking to sublet their huge office after firing like half the company.
