Are other people’s wives like this? My other half reminds me to rest. And we work on projects together. One of us is left handed so we can even cook together on the same cooktop.

Repost, but change it from “wife” to “kid” and it will be upvoted.

Why would unmarried people care about marriage jokes?

We happily married people are trying to set the record straight.

And chud is a very chud word to use. Get with the times unc.

Uh no, I’m married now for well over a decade and these memes are still just lazy boomer “wife bad” memes. Is it perfect 24/7? Of course not, but I also wouldn’t say my day was ever ruined by her either.

Its not a great meme but its kind of true, at least for me, I’m someone who likes being alone a lot of the time and I don’t like to be bothered when I’m doing my own thing. They could have replaced "wife " with anyone who lives with you and it would have the same effect.

Yeah I think the wife is what changes it from a decent meme to boomer humor

Why get married to someone you don’t like

It’s possible and common to be happily married and in a healthy relationship with someone you love deeply and who also gets on your nerves sometimes for very specific, but also very human behavior.

Loving someone means loving all of that person, flaws included. We accept the little annoyances because overall, that person adds more to your life than they take away. Acknowledging this fact of human relationships is one way to embrace those flaws, and thus, that person.

Yes, but this kind of shit-tier boomer humor encapsulates the relationship solely in the context of a nagging burden. There is no nuance, and further it harks back to an earlier form of popular humor where the nagging wife was hilariously silenced through violence.

You are right. Which is why people can work on the relationship and themselves to improve it.

It is called having a healthy relationship.

Usually the answer is sex, money, fear, money, or money.

All awful reasons. I love my wife, but if things start going bad, we’ll end it. We don’t want to of course, but neither of us are foolish enough to live like angry boomers.
