My sister got her hands on something similar (I think it was chips ahoy with sour patch kids? The details are unimportant). They were completely inedible, just disgusting trash. I couldn’t even bring myself to eat a whole one while I was stoned and had a bad case of the munchies.

I’m convinced no one actually likes these and they’re made solely to make one-off sales to people who just have to see how bad they are.

The difference is the long racist history of refering to Asian people as yellow skinned, phrases like “yellow peril” describing fears of Asian immigrants, so it’s not a stretch to see how depicting a Chinese man with cartoonishly yellow skin is racist as fuck.

It would be like depicting a black politician as a monkey, it’s difficult to defend something like that as just a joke against a specific person when there’s such a racist connotation/history there.

Some men experience side effects like reduced/absent libido, depression, and other negative mental health effects. I don’t know how rare they are but to me it’s not worth the risk just for my own vanity. Yea that’s me rn. It hasn’t hit me yet (at least not noticably) but when it does I’m just embracing it. I know there’s medication/treatment but between cost and potential side effects (as someone who already struggles with mental health the possibility of Post Finasteride Syndrome scares the shit out of me) it’s not worth it.

Plus I have a personal aversion to the idea of clinging on to youth or denying aging. Nothing against people trying to look how they want to but I’m embracing aging, it feels so much less stressful than the alternative

You forget that paper is from the mid-80s. I don’t understand why people think they just stopped replacing birds. The authors of that paper based it all on declassified documents that were almost 30 years old even then! If anything the government just got better at hiding what they were doing, mark my words in another couple decades it’ll come out that it’s not only the pigeons and starlings that have been replaced but also robins, seagulls, and a variety songbirds!

I dunno, all the slurs and gratuitous feet shots get old. Yea I enjoy some of his movies, but scenes like his “dead [slur] storage” bit in Pulp Fiction get to be really grating.
