Just a heads up that the Smart virus is spreading to monitors, too. In a few years most monitors will be Smart.

I agree with the meme because damn I can’t wait to leave wherever I’m at and go home
But on a more serious level, why should you be leaving so quickly? It’s bad for the car to start it and then immediately take off.
If your gas engine car has been parked for a long time and has cooled from operating temps, you need to give it time to warm up first. Start the car and let it run for a minute. This allows time for fluids to cycle through your engine and radiator. Then you can drive, but don’t drive hard until your oil temp and coolant temp gauges rise to normal operating levels. Treat it like a workout for your body; you don’t go outside and then immediately begin sprinting. You want to start slow to warm up your muscles first.
Note: some modern cars indicate in the owner’s manual you can drive after 10 seconds from starting your car. You can listen to the manual since the engineers built your car and know it best. However, giving it sufficient time for fluids to flow through is always best. I always wait about a minute to play it safest.

I picked up a 2025 P14s Gen 6. Wanted Ethernet and the ability to easily swap both RAM sticks in the future. Apart from the soldered WiFi chip, this computer is by far one of the most modern and repairable ones I’ve seen. Perfectly runs Fedora KDE, too.
T series are also fantastic, but at the time it wasn’t as repairable given one RAM stick was soldered and the other was replaceable. Also because of the form factor it didn’t have Ethernet.
Can’t go wrong with a P series if your needs are similar to mine in a computer for long-term use.
Edit: Forgot to add that while my P14s Gen 6 is great, the biggest complaint is the soldered USB C ports for power delivery. That’s a huge point of failure. I mitigate the weak point by using a magnetic USB C cable. It’s nice to see the the new T series has modular USB C / thunderbolt ports and remediates the weak point that was a common complaint for users.

backup your NAS to a cloud like backblaze.
Are you encrypting your data before it goes to Backblaze? And if so, are you also testing those encrypted backups?

Was hoping the exec leadership team would call out the verbiage “align” and “synergise”, but failed to see it. Looks like a missed opportunity, so maybe they’ll put a pin in that to be implemented for the next sync with a plan of action to remediate this so we can stop the bleeding. Also, AI AI AI AI AI, and just to call out we need more AI.

“Sweet dreams, Piggy!”

For now. GrapheneOS is partnering with an OEM that will offer smartphones that meet their hardware security standard. They announced this a while back and are expecting to be able to reveal the new OEM either this year or 2027. The exciting thing is it will be running on modern Snapdragon processors rather than Google Tensor.
Hopefully all the hardware component shortages due to AI won’t have an impact to this OEM’s plans.
Confirmed, my comment above is inaccurate as the Nintendo DS game cartridges do not use NAND; rather, Nintendo DS cartridges use mask ROMs.
Edited my comment above to remove that misinformation. Learned about this stuff years ago and I must have lumped DS into the mix.
Buy your games on GOG and own them forever. You can also buy a cheap, slow as hell external drive and backup your installer files, too. You can still buy games on Steam since most of them don’t have DRM. For now, Steam is also great, but a decade from now they could enshittify.
If you only do console gaming, buy physical cartridges and discs as much as possible. You’ll keep most of the game and can play whenever you want. An example of being able to play “most” of the game applies to games with legacy activation servers, such as Splinter Cell Blacklist and Watch Dogs 1. Most of the game is playable, but anything that requires a connection to that activation servers no longer works.
Finally, scour Craigslist, flea markets, and yard sales to buy old game consoles from before this DRM mess. All those old games still work great. If you buy Wii U, 3DS, and Switch 1, make sure to boot your console and every single game at least once every few years. Yes, every single one of your games. Due to NAND volatility, this will protect your games and console (Wii U) from NAND failure and increase longevity.
Edit: removed Nintendo DS from the list I provided. Nintendo DS does not use NAND; rather, the DS uses mask ROMs which does not have the limitation of NAND volatility.

Agreed. This looks like Control Resonant.
