I opted to link to Wario64, because he already pulled out the stuff we’re interested in from a pretty dry report. The next Kingdom Come is expected to be titled “Salvation”, and based on the development timeline, I would expect it to reuse some characters and locations from KCD2 but probably not Henry of Skalitz.
Do we know what the new Darksiders is gonna be yet? I hope it’s a “going back to the franchise roots” situation and not “a new direction” situation.
First Darksiders was peak but the franchise went on a puzzling and steady decline after.
Now that DMC5 sold +10M copies, I hope fun air combos are back on the menu.
As someone who started with DS2 and it also being one of my first ever titles it will ever have a special place in my heart.
1 and 3 were okay in my experience. 1 because it was a bit old and clunky, 3 because it was just a bit mid all around. If this new title goes back to the roots I’m not going to be mad about it!
Im so torn. I woulf really Like for Darksiders to be fully finished, but the direction of the Games has been quiet the Ride
but probably not Henry of Skalitz.
Why not?
Conjecture on my part, but I took “Deliverance” to be Henry’s story in this world, based on some interviews with the devs. Plus he has a pretty solid conclusion to his story at the end of 2. So if we’re dropping “Deliverance” from the title, I’d expect it to follow someone else. There’s a pretty significant main character of KCD2 that, I’m told, the thing he’s known for in history has not happened yet by the time KCD2 ends.

Historical "spoiler"
Yes, Jan Žižka is one of the leaders in the Hussite Wars that follow soon after KCD II. I also think that the wars are going to be the theme of the next game, because the brewing conflict has been hinted at in game one and two already.
But in my opinion it is very unlikely that they will be the main character of the new game for storytelling reasons. If you are the figurehead of a movement you can’t simply walk up to the other side and explore their motives. Which is the same reason why KCD 1 and 2 features Henry and is not played from the point of view of i.e. Sigismund of Hungary. A minor character is needed, so the player can move between parties and see and understand both sides of the conflict.
Plus he has a pretty solid conclusion to his story at the end of 2.
The more I thought about it, the more I was agreeing with you. Hans is going to be married off for political reasons and Theresa is waiting for Henry back at Rattay. However, no matter what you do there is one loose end that is specifically brought up in every conversation at the end: Erik, who is out for Henry’s blood.
I can’t believe you’d just put spoilers for real world history in a comment like that, but at least you put it in spoiler tags. /s
Yeah, I didn’t mean to imply he’d be the main character, only that you can keep working with some of the actors they’ve already hired and get along with, keep using the locations and game systems they’ve already built, and start the player on fresh ground without having to hit his head to reset him back to a low level character sheet.
Well, it’s less about the historical events but the implications these events might have for the upcoming game that I don’t want to spoil for people.

Well, obviously Henry lost all but his smithing skills while working in Skalitz for a couple of years. Just making stuff up but here’s my take:
- Hans gets married off
- Henry moves with Theresa back to Skalitz
- … time passes …
- Hans shows up in Skalitz because he is dying of boredom from being a “responsible adult”
- “Henry mate, I heard our friend X has this thing going on. Let’s go and check it out”
- “Na, mate. I am good here. It’s not much, but it’s honest work”.
- Erik shows up with a war band from the opposing side, using the new conflict for his own vendetta.

Henry's reaction
:::Edit: Aaaaaaactually Henry being in the new game makes perfect sense. Theresa mentions specifically in game one that she wants to go to Prague and see the guy responsible for the whole mess that is about to go down. So yeah: Henry and Theresa go to Prague get caught up in the whole affair, and we can either pick playing as Henry or Theresa or play Theresa and there is no need for a character reset for Henry.
Guess they should hire me as a writer if that’s not what they have come up with already.
